Aging Fitbit HR

I think my Fitbit is about 2 years old, and I've been having more and more problems with it, i.e., no longer reporting sleep details even though I'm wearing it the same way; longer for phone to find it and sync; showing a heart rate even when I'm not wearing it; increasing periods where the heart rate is too high and more periods when I know my heart rate is increasing, but it seems to take a long time for the Fitbit to "catch up".   The website, community forums, and health info. provided by the device have strongly appealed to me, but increasing lack of reliability, privacy concerns with sale of the company, and the high percentage of poor reviews for the higher end model with the features that I want are resulting in me turning to alternatives for my next device, which appears I'll be needing soon.   Are others having these issues pile up with older devices?

Hi, @SunsetRunner , which Fitbit model do you have?  (Just asking because troubleshooting advice does differ...).  Hopefully someone will be able to help.

My understanding is that even if the company sale does go through, Fitbit will not be changing its privacy policy.  You will continue to own your data, and it will never be shared or sold.

Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android

I have a Fitbit Inspire HR, but I'm not looking for fixes for all the
issues my Fitbit is having; I wanted to see if others were having a
similar experiences with aging Fitbit devices.

As to privacy of data, it's a complex issue. Google is a master of data
mining and doesn't need to sell it to use it; their biggest revenue stream
is ads. Did you know that if you use gmail, Google has tracked all your
online purchases over the last several years?
