Can't setup new Inspire HR, can't find that device in the drop-down list on website, please help!

I bought an Inspire HR to replace my very old Fitbit, but I can't set it up. I went to Main Menu-->Setup new device-->Existing user and logged in and saw my profile info. Some "Meet your new Inspire HR" tab showed up, but it was all white and empty. I clicked "Continue" and saw three more blank pages, and then my computer and device tried to connect, but could not, over and over. The device has charge, and its screen reads "www.fitbit.com/setup," but when I go there, I just end up in the same sequence of actions described above. I have nothing else connected to my MacBook Air by Bluetooth. I have no other Fitbits nearby. I removed the old Fitbit device from my account. Any clue how to get the computer and new device to see each other? Thank you!

@rockmelter, it's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you setting up your Inspire Hr. It would be better if you can use a mobile device to setup your tracker. I suggest you try the following (can be applied on computer of phone):

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you, Alvaro! I successfully setup my Inspire HR with my phone. But is there a way to make it sync with my computer, too? That still is not working. I can log in on my computer and track what's going on, though, so I am able to do everything I want.

I have the same problem trying to set up an Inspire, which I bought to replace my Zip.  I want to set this up on my Apple PC, not on a phone. Under the 'Meet your Fitbit Inspire' 'USB Charging Cradle' it's just blank, followed by three blank pages then it searches for the (connected by USB) Inspire and then I get the unhelpful 'Not working?' page.  Yes it is 'awake' (it's busy scrolling a message I should 'set it up'), yet it's connected to my computer, no there are no other trackers; I have tried disabling Bluetooth. Why is this not working?  (And, no, I do not want to do this on my phone.)

Thank you for this information - I, too, was ready to return the device!!!  It has set up and connected.  Now I have to learn how to use it!

There are too many problems with my fit bit including the fact that it's not on the list and that the it won't connect with blue tooth. It shouldn't be this compromised, so rather than fight with it I will just return it. I have a pedometer on my phone and I can check my pulse  with my fingers. Ridiculous. I will not recommend a Fitbit to anyone. It shouldn't be this difficult. These set up issues point to other issues.
