Dubious Cardio Score: How Are You Calculating This?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm a 29 year old male. I run 7 days a week, 3-5 miles and usually get about 15000-30000 steps per day, and I weigh about 135 pounds. My pace when I run is usually 7:30-9:00/mile.

Fitbit says that my cardio fitness is "average to good." Seriously? Did America suddenly get much more active and I didn't notice? How is it getting this? Is there a way to disable this? I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but I work very hard at my health and it is mildly infuriating to have my device telling me to be less sedentary or "try losing weight" (kind of a reckless suggestion to make of someone 135lb and 5'9") and that maybe I should try working out or whatever.

Do you ever run connected to your phone's GPS?

Fitbit gets a better cardio score with an occasional GPS-connected run to be able to compare heart rate to running speed.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
