Is there anyway to add a category? I do yoga,  stretching, and very light weight (resistance bands) exercises but I have no idea what category they fall under.

Thanks

Hi @SolusUmbra The best way to track activities that are not listed in the exercise shortcuts is to use the 'workout' shortcut and change the name in the app afterwards. Yoga is one of the shorcuts you can have by the way, but you need to add it in the app on your phone. (Select you Inspire HR amd scroll down to Exercise Shortcuts)

For the other two activities you would need to use the workout one and change the name of the activity in the app afterwards.

Hi @SolusUmbra  Good question. You need to create a custom activity - details below

ADDING A CUSTOM ACTIVITY
First you have to know how many calories you burn in your activity. You can google calorie calculators

Then go to the Fitbit website Dashboard (not the app) and tap the top of the Recent Exercise tile. A little thing will drop down on the bottom of the tile. Tap See More which is on the right side. A new page comes up. Move right to the bottom of this new page to the box titled Activities which is on the right side at the bottom. On the bottom of this box, in blue and small print it says Create Custom Activity. Tap that and a box comes up. Put in the title of the Activity and then fill in the start time and duration of you latest session, fill in the calories burnt and hit log. You have now created your custom activity. Bit of a trial, but you only have to do it that way once. From now on your custom activity will be on your drop down activity list in the App.

So what do I put in under calories? The calculator I tried gives me the numbers for 15mins or 1 hour. Do I have to figure it out per min?

So I did the activity again today, went into the app and changed it from workout to the new active but the calories and steps taken didn’t change.

I wouldnt expect the steps to change it will use what is counted. Id have though the calories might change but maybe they are based on your heart rate as with any other activity, and the name change is just for your records. I have only changed the name on a couple of workouts and cant remember what changed and what didnt. Sorry I cant help any more on what should happen.

@NellyG

I came up with one more question this morning. Is there a way to have 2 of the same categories but set up different?

Like I want the interval time set for cardio and one for stretching?

This works well. When I input it this way it displays on the app correctly. Unfortunately, when I categorize it from the app using the previously created customized exercises, it messes up the display in the app. For example, it displays everything with a mileage and a pace rather than the preferred duration and calories. Is there a way to change this rather than having to edit each exercise through the website?
