Hi Everyone! I know a lot people have been asking questions on here about the Inspire HR. We just returned my husband’s. We went to go get him an Alta HR, and I didn’t know they had been discontinued. So my husband got his Inspire HR yesterday. We thought it was maybe just getting acclimated to him wearing it. However, today it said he had in 135 active minutes and 6,300 steps. We live in a 700 sq. foot apartment that my husband barely moved around in today. He took a shower and washed dishes. We did a couple “tests” to see the step tracking. He counted 20 steps, three different times. Each time it counted over double the steps he actually took. Then I shook my arm around on the couch, my Alta HR steps didn’t move. His counted quite a few. I wish I would have read more reviews first because this seems to be a very common problem. Just purchased an Alta HR online.

@viniebenet3 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!
Sorry to hear that your husband's Inspire HR not recording steps correctly. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen while driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non-dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement. Still I appreciate your time spent with the Inspire HR and thank you for sharing the feedback in the forums. Hopefully your husband will enjoy his new Alta HR.
I'll be around.
