Fitbit Inspire display

Hi, all!  I had the Charge 3 and was elated when I saw Fitbit was releasing essentially an updated Alta HR with all the additional features I'd ever want (slim design, swimproof, notifications, a touchscreen that's responsive to swiping, etc.).  I immediately jumped on the wagon and preordered it.

I received my Inspire HR on Saturday and I'm feeling underwhelmed.  The display is extremely finicky and constantly shuts off as I'm trying to swipe through options.  I find myself tapping on it incessantly as I had to tap my Alta HR (due to unresponsiveness).

Has anyone else had similar experiences?  Thanks in advance!

Disclaimer:  This is the first time I've ever pre-ordered a device.  Is it common for glitches to occur in the beginning but will be worked out with updates?

@SamSpins I believe there is a light sensor that turns the screen off when it senses the light cut off. Try playing around with it with your finger and see if you can locate the point where it shuts off the screen prematurely.

My display is glitchy when I swipe to transition between screens. Oftentimes when I swipe, the next screen will transition very choppy and not smooth at all. Sometimes other stats or the clock flash before showing the correct stat it's supposed to show. Has anyone had this issue? I'm hoping I don't need to return my fitbit and try a different one as I really do like this device.

My issues were fixed by loosening the strap!

Had the same problem.  Tried loosening strap as per your comments. Work like charm! Thanks.  I would never have come up with that cure on my own (and I was getting really frustrated)

My experience is exactly as you’ve described! I’m so disappointed. Screen won’t wake up when I turn my wrist...like you I’m tapping which of course is not the answer. The screen shuts down before I’ve navigated through the displays I want to review.  The screen switches off too quickly. My device is not synching with my phone....have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions.

Previously had a very old Garmin Vivofit which was a lot more reliable.

Im taking mine back.

I think wtksk8r is right about the light sensor. Try swiping just along the right edge of the display and see if it still shuts off prematurely.
