Inspire 2 black screen

A few weeks ago the touchscreen of my fitbit stopped working. I did change the clock, but after an hour it stopped working again. Today I tried to fix that by doing a restart.  Now my fitbit only gives a black screen.

I tried doing a restart again and it does show the smiley face, but after that it goes black again. I also tried to change the clock. It will show the loading bar, but after that it goes black again.

When I touch the sides it does react as in I can feel a vibration. But is doesn't show anything.

Is there something I can do to fix this?

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Inspire 2 is still blank. Since all the steps you tried didn't work, you have an Inspire 2 and report it has a blank screen, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.

@MichiganKathy Welcome on board. I'm sorry to hear that you're also having issues with the screen of your Fitbit device.

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

@MarreFitbitYes, I've done all of those steps.  My Inspire 2 is still tracking my steps; sync updates the count.  Restarting the device shows a smiley face and then goes back to the black screen.  Installing the clock face shows the progress bar on the Inspire 2 screen but then it goes back to black.

Had the same problem in July and after trying for 2 weeks, I got my Inspire 2  to fully work! Two weeks ago, it went blank AGAIN and I have been trying to get it to work with no luck. It tracks all of my activity , but does not show me the time of day or alert me to move, take medicine or wake up which I rely on my Fitbit to do.

I am so frustrated with Google/Fitbit as they are aware of this problem from 2022 to the present day and have done nothing to help the many of us with blank screens.

Did you do something else other than reset/change the clock face?  I am trying to decide whether to replace mine with another fitbit or something else.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried everything they suggested. After $100 and 18; months of use, with no real help from Google/Fitbit I am going to buy something else. Both the customer service and product are not worth it.

Hi, I have the same problem with my daughter's inspire 2 black screen, can restart to get the smilie face then just goes back again.  Tried changing the clock face, made no difference.  Is still tracking steps.  Any help to fix the device would be appreciated.   Thanks Lynne

I had the same problems that others have mentioned about a black screen. I went to the chat line and they walked me through various steps but I discovered that the problem was that I needed to upgrade the app on my phone. Problem was solved.

I am having the same problem today and have tried both the reset and changing the clock face. My battery is at 96% and my steps show on the app on my phone but the device screen is black.

Unfortunately, I thought I had the problem solved but after a few days my Fitbit went black on me again. 🙁

I was able to finally resolve this issue by letting my fitbit completely die and then plug it in the charge. This has been the ONLY way I've been able to work around the black screen problem. No amount of manual resets or messing around in the app would fix the problem. You must let the battery drain completely and then plug it in again.

I let my fitbit battery completely die and then charged it for a minute but still no screen.  Then I let it die again and then waited 24 hours more before charging it for 3 minutes.  Still no screen. Currently my battery is dead and I'm waiting for a week before I recharge it.

Did you fully charge your fitbit before the screen came back?
