Inspire 2 screen too dim to read and no help from customer service

I have been a loyal and happy fitbit customer since my first tracker was received as a gift in 2014.  I have had a fitbit inspire 2 for almost 2 years.  Just after the warranty ended, the screen became so dim that I can only read it in a dark room - so pretty useless except for the middle of the night.  Unfortunately, all they could do for me in customer service is encourage me to buy another fitbit for 35% discount.  It is clear the my inspire 2 is defective -everything works except for the screen being too dim.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with customer service  when I've had other fitbit issues.  Not this time.  I am soured on it and will not purchase another.

Hi @rickmar @L_Allison Welcome to the Fitbit community.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding Inspire 2. I'm sorry to know the difficulty that you are experiencing.

@rickma When I have been checking up your information, I've been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed. Please keep an eye on your inbox.

@L_Allison check that Dim Screen is turned off in the Settings app and make sure that Sleep mode is turned off in quick settings and in the Settings app. For full instructions check out this article

Please restart your Inspire 2 as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? If the restart doesn't work, please try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

I have tried all the fixes recommended, I am unable to get the screen to show anything. I am also unable to find the "dim screen" listed anywhere in settings. I am unable to find anything labeled "sleep mode" in settings. I have restarted the fitbit several times, zip.
I am only able to see my data on my android phone or by logging in to fitbit on my laptop. I am unable to find the settings you referenced on any of these devices.

I have tried each of these fixes and the screen is still too dim to read except in a dark room.  What's the next step?

The only response from customer service was to purchase a new fitbit.  I find this unacceptable since there is clearly a defect with my fitbit.
