Inspire 2 stopped receiving notifications

I am near ready to return this device and wash my hands of Fitbit entirely. First there was a multi-day issue with skin temp. Now I’m not getting pop up notifications for calls, texts and calendar.

I have not had this issue with this device since getting it until it suddenly began today. At this point I feel like finding a solution is fruitless and customer support is rarely any help… 

just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a sudden disappearance of preciously working notifications.
