It still vibrates when I hit the button. I saw the smile once but haven't seen it since and nothing is working. Very frustrating given its only 2 weeks old. Is there a solution or hard reset?

Hi, @scooch , if you have tried the restart several times, and have also tried the clock face tip that seems to have worked for some people, then it is probably time to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com and they will take it from there. Be sure to let them know the troubleshooting steps you have already tried, as that will save time.
My only tip would be, while you are waiting for them to respond - because it can take some extra time these days - is to try the restart another time or two (it can’t hurt and you’ve got nothing to lose!). Make sure that the Fitbit is carefully aligned in the cradle because the restart will not work unless the charging connections are good the whole time you are pressing the button. Then, while it is still properly connected to the charge, press and hold the button for a LOT longer than the recommended 5 secs - like maybe 30 secs, and repeat this a couple of times. You never know, it might just do it!

My inspire hr also has no display but is fully charged and is recording my steps etc. I tried holding power button while charging for 15 seconds 3x in a row and my display is still not working. Please help

I had similar problem awhile ago and by changing to other clock faces, sync, then again to my preference, sync and the display is working fine now.

Same here. I'm so done with it. It seems to have trouble over trouble. First the sync problem, now a black screen. Nothing works. It's not fun anymore having a fitbit. I'm very disappointed. Hope this will be fixed soon.
Edit: and of course it doesn't sync anymore! Can't find the fitbit.
Grrrr

Hi there,
I assume at least your phone app is linked to Fitbit via Bluetooth connection.
From the app, go to your Account page by clicking your face on the top left side.
Once inside the Account page, go to Devices and click on the Fitbit model you have a problem with.
Under that selected device page, you should see the "Clock Faces" option, click on it.
Inside "Clock Faces" option, go and choose other clock faces, click on Select and see if it is communicating with your Fitbit devices and new clock faces should appear on it now.
That's how I solved my Fitbit screen from totally black to selected clock faces.
Good Luck!
Hope it works for everyone!

Coming back to this thread again to continue to document my experience with this. My display went dark again on July 8 (about 1 month after the last time). This is the FIFTH time it has happened since I got it. Changing the clock face worked immediately as it always does. I'm going to try and pay attention and make notes about any activity that might be related in an attempt to troubleshoot the cause. Maybe Fitbit will take notice! For this round, I had put it on the charger for a while earlier in the day, but did not charge it to full as I was heading out. It went from about 18% to 80% (estimated). Charged via by laptop USB (which is how I always charge it.)

Thanks for the replies! For now it's working again, but definitely frustrating!
Hopefully Fitbit will fix the problems.

I’m having the same issue, however the green light on the back for the HR isn’t working, and the Fitbit won’t sync. The Fitbit does vibrate though indicating that it’s working.

I just received a replacement Inspire HR as my old one was still under warranty and had all of the battery and screen issues that many of you had described. I've had it charging for 3 hours, and can get the smiley face, but the screen remains black so I can't get the 4 numbers to use to pair and then change the clock face. I'm SO frustrated with Fitbit.

Same problem, I restart it multiple times, it open, it said 100% charge, but when I took it off the charger it goes black... 😞 It’s been 8 months only! Not even a year....

That, change clock face, works the first few times. But I've done everything, the force reset, changed my clock. Removed the App, redownloaded it, resynced my Inspire HR.. just seems to be the way with Fitbits that they glitch if they have more features then the Fitbit Charge HR, as yeah due to Health conditions I got a Smart watch to track my Heartrate
