Inspire HR's display not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It still vibrates when I hit the button. I saw the smile once but haven't seen it since and nothing is working. Very frustrating given its only 2 weeks old. Is there a solution or hard reset?

My Inspire HR just had this problem with the screen going black for the second time. First time on 2-7-20, and second time today on 3-16-20. Changing the screen display via the app worked just like last time, but it is annoying that they can't fix this common glitch.

Hi, @McMahons , have you tried giving your Fitbit a restart?  That can often solve this issue.  Here are the instructions:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

Sometimes you need to hold the button for longer than the recommended 5 seconds, and do make sure that there is good contact with the charging points, as it must be plugged in and charging in order for the restart to work.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the Community!

Mine was under warranty, so I requested a replacement. A week or so later,
while still waiting for the replacement, the screen mysteriously started
working again. Hopefully the replacement is more reliable.

None of the above solutions have helped me with my hr inspire. It's still locked on the clock screen and won't respond to touch.

I am having the same issue.  My first fitbit was replaced last month due to issues.  The replacement now has no video!

Fitbit sent me a new pebble as mine was under 1 year old. Message them

If your Inspire HR display is not working, the advice is to try the restart procedure:

Plug it in to charge in the usual way using a charging plug known to be working.  A CE/UL certified wall charger is fine.  Make sure the charging points are lined up.  If yiu are not certain that it is well chaged, give it a couple of hours plugged in.

Once you are sure it is well charged (even if it didn’t seem to be charging), while it is still plugged in and charging, press and hold the button.  Make sure you do not disturb the contact between the Fitbit and the charging cable - the restart will never work if it is not properly connected.

When it restarts you should feel a slight vibration and see a smiley face icon.  If you do not see this at first, repeat the procedure, possibly holding the button for longer.

If it won’t work after tryng the restart at least 3 times, please get in touch with Fitbit on contact.fitbit.com   They will definitely ask you to try the restart procedure as a first step, so I would strongly recommend doing this first, even if your Fitbit is only a few weeks or months old, before contacting Fitbit, as that will save everyone’s time.
