Inspire HR - why random fireworks display?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Inspire HR seems to randomly show fireworks and flashes 10,000 steps when I have NOT done 10,000 steps. It has done it with as few as 1,500 and as many as 9,850 steps completed. It does buzz/vibrate when I do get to 10,000 steps as well.

Any ideas? Is it defective or is it a feature that I can't figure out how to change?

Thanks in advance for any help.

@djl211 - open the Fitbit app on your phone and check your settings to make sure steps are your main goal. I know from experience that my main goal is miles. When the fireworks appear, it has nothing to do with my steps.

Thank you, @SunsetRunner

No, steps are my main criteria.

It just did it again, showing 16,400 steps.

Syncing from my laptop does re-set the Inspire to what I believe is the correct step count of 8,200, but if I'm not near my laptop (I don't have the app on my phone) I can't trust the #'s.

I tracked my steps per mile over a two year period when I first got a FitBit a few years ago, so I could use the miles as a close estimate to step count. It's just an odd problem, especially now after closer examination it seems to be exactly double the real step count.

Thanks for your reply.

@djl211 - I apologize if this has already been suggested and tried, but have you tried resetting your Inspire a couple times?
