Inspire & Inspire HR Battery Issue

ANSWERED

Fitbit update: 4/9/19 Our engineers have added the Stats Heavy and Valerie clockfaces back into the gallery. Feel free to re-install them if you had recently removed them due to battery concerns.

Our team was recently made aware of an issue which may be affecting some users battery life while using certain clockfaces on Inspire and Inspire HR. We are currently looking into this and hope to have a fix identified soon.

In the meantime, I recommend switching to one of these three clockfaces: Simple Stats, Shifted, or Analog. After some testing, our team has determined that switching to the above clockfaces should help alleviate potential battery drain.

If you are experiencing short battery life after switching to one of the clockfaces above, I also recommend performing a quick restart and following the troubleshoots listed in this article.

As always, I will be sure to keep you all in the loop as more information becomes available. Feel free to let me know if you have any additional insights or questions. Thanks again!

I’ve had mine for about a month. I honestly don’t think there’s anything wrong with the device itself. Now that I constantly scroll to the quick start exercise every so often and make sure an exercise hasn’t started, the battery life has been a lot better. I also deleted every exercise shortcut in the app itself. So there’s less that can auto start. I also turned off screen wake.

I don’t think Fitbit is aware that the exercise shortcut may be the problem. No one else has mentioned it in all the posts I’ve read through so far. It’s something so simple. Maybe now that its a possibility, people will look at it and if more people notice they also have multiple exercises being logged in a day, more people will start talking about it.

With my charge and Charge 2, I was able to choose what was in the scroll to be seen. I normally had everything but steps turned off. I could go over a week between charges with those devices.

Funny you should mention this. I opened up the exercise app and didn't close it and my battery drained from 85 to 13. Now I know what caused it, thanks for posting.

Didn't work for me.  I finally returned it to the store today.  It's disappointing and I have several days of fitness tracking missing because of all the issues.  I've tried all the recommendations listed.

That’s 23% used, not 33%. So not that bad.

They told you they resolved the problem? That couldn't fix it so they opted
to send me another one. This would make my third replacement in 2 months!

Thank you for the reply... a bit disappointing to buy a device and them not be able to use all the features just to save battery power. Will try for a replacement...if that works!Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Thanks for getting back to me Ricardo. I’ve taken my Fitbit back to the place of purchase and they’ve swapped it over for a new one. Disappointing that the first one only lasted 3 weeks. Hope this one lasts longer

I've got my replacement sync'd and charged yesterday. I had the valerie clock face on and my battery is already 45%. This makes me sad.

I've just gone back to my Alta HR. I'll keep the Inspire HR for backup. If
I can't use all the features, get the battery life it states, the power
cord drives me insane cuz it's way too short (who thought that was a good
idea) and the step count is off, I'm not going to bother. Like I said, I'll
use it as a backup for when I forget to charge my Alta HR. Since that
battery last 7-8 days, it's easy to forget I need to charge it.

I bought a new FitbitH HR inspire and the battery keeps dying after 1 day. I previously had the Fitbit HR ultra and it would last all week after fully charged. I would go back to my old one but I bought the nice gold band that was $100.  What can I do, it’s very frustrating?

Best Answer
that hurts😪 i went back to my alta hr as my battery is gone, the alarm sometimes worked and sometimes not, had to charge every 48 hrs with the miserable tiny short cord!! so you’ll be happy back with the alta hr but you lost $$ on both the band and the watch!!

I sent my Inspire in for warranty service to hopefully address the battery issue.  In the meantime- a miracle!  My One- which stopped charging- suddenly accepted a charged when I tried it a couple of days ago after letting it sit for a month.  Two days later and I have over 90% of the battery available.  Now that's what I am looking for!  The One is simple- no fancy clock faces, no nudging, no notifications- just a fitness tracker that is meant for the pocket.  If it continues to work when the Inspire is returned, the Inspire will be a backup.

I am so happy I think I will go take a walk!

On 4/18 I was having to charge my Inspire HR ever 2days. As of today it's down to one day. I'm using the recommended clock faces, I reset the thing, and I haven't changed what I'm doing or how I'm using it. Something is definitely going wrong (with the battery). I'm going to ask for a replacement, but from what I'm reading here replacements don't seem to do any better for folks. Probably time to start looking at other manufacturers.

A quick update on my Inspire HR, it went dead while I was on the road, now it won't charge. It's been on the charger for over a day now and it won't even give me the battery level screen.  Looking for a different fitness band now, I can get this level of performance from a Chinese knockoff, I'm looking for something better.
