Hello,

I too am having trouble with updates. I am new to this and note that the howto restart section does not tell you how to turn off and restart.  I could swear a month ago my LG Aristo II was a compatible product and it was working find now I do not see it on the list. Its system is Android 8.1.0 Could that be the reason this firmware is not updating. Help please.

Artemisny, it appears quite a few of us are having an issue with the firmware update and not being able to synch back up.

Someone posted they had to remove the tracker from being recognized from Bluetooth, turn off Bluetooth, remove the app, reload the app, turn Bluetooth back on, have Bluetooth find the tracker again, and then synch the tracker up with the app.

That worked for me.  It still had my steps (I hadn't been synched with the app since late Saturday night) but I lost my sleep info.

thank you. I tried it and so far no luck. I wish someone from fitbit would
respond and tell me whether my phone will update at all.

@MattFitbit , Can we get a display that shows time, date, heart rate & steps??? That’s all I want for Christmas!!! Pretty Please!!!!!  I thought it was a major oversight that the view that shows everything doesn’t  actually show everything as it cannot show the date.

Two displays I would like to see:

#1.

Time

date

heartrate

steps

#2.

Time

date

heartrate

steps

<Tap display to switch>

time

date

callories

distance

Thank you!!!

There is a display like that.. though it also has calories and distance.  Is that an issue for you.. too much data?  I need glasses read, yet I can make that screen out.

time

steps

HR

Cal

Distance

@JoeGV,  Think about my ask..... Where is the Date??? I personally don't care about the distance and calories burned, which is why I suggested two versions. one with 2 screens to change between which shows all the data. Then another single screen version. Also this would only be 4 lines not 5 lines so it could be easier on the eyes.  🙂

Good point... No date in that view.

Took about 45 minutes, but it works fine, had no issues updating.

I’d still like more info on what was updated though. As you’re changing a product I bought after purchase and not knowing what I updated could significantly alter my user experience.

Finally updated my Inspire and it drained the battery. In the time it took to update (about 20 minutes), the battery went from 56% to being shown 14% - I've never had that happen with any of my other trackers when I've updated them. Is this normal? If not, is my unit now defective? I was getting 7-8 days on it (charging it once a week on the same day, most of the time there was some battery left still).

I have noticed my battery is significantly shorter after the update too. Yesterday my battery went from 65% to 8% in a matter of a hour without me using it at all. I was working in the garage and not messing with it.

Ever since I updated my inspire hr, it keeps crashing during exercise. I’ve had it for a few weeks, and didn’t ever have this issue until after I updated the software. It’s making it very hard to accurately track workouts. Is there a fix for this?

Leaving aside, for the moment, all the frustrating issues which arose during the update process, I have to say that once the dust settled, things have been good.

Battery life has improved for me. I was having to charge every day or two, and since the upgrade I've been able to go three and a half or four days without charging. (That's still terrible in comparison to my old Alta HR, but better than the Inspire was when I bought it.) As the weather improved, I became more active as well, so the battery life thing is good news for me.

It's also my impression that the display is a tiny bit brighter. Of course, I have no proof of this or any means, really, to know if that was supposed to happen with this update. Was that a bug fix? Was that an improvement? Did it ever really happen at all? Are we in the Black Lodge or the White Lodge?

No way to know when all we get for release notes is "This release includes bug fixes and improvements."

I recently bought my children the Inspire HR and at the end of last week I tried to sync and update my daughter's device.  During the update something happened and we have not been able to get anything to happen with the device display.  The display is blank even after multiple attempts to reset and it has been on the charger for about 3 days now so I know it should be fully charged.  I am not able to connect the device to the app on my phone at all.  What are my options because we have only had this Inspire for about 2 weeks?

@SarahHaselden I suggest calling support.  They will have you troubleshoot some things and, if that fails, they should give you some options for replacement of the device as it is under warranty.

I got a badge for taking a bike ride and 8k steps. Only problem was, my fitbit was sitting in a drawer. I never knew it was so easy to work out.

Maybe I was not clear. I got my Inspire HR from work in Feb. At that time, I can started an exercise (run or walk) from my phone and it can find my phone (Samsung S7 edge) to get GPS info. In March, there was a firmware update to the Inspire and the device no longer able to connect to my phone.  The situation has not improved with this latest firmware update. If I delete the inspire under my phone's bluetooth and re-pari, my Inspire HR will find the phone once or twice.

There is a bug in the new update. If you reset Inspire HR while charging, then after the restart (smile icon) the charging level icon disappears. You need to disconnect and reconnect the unit to see again the battery icon with battery level.

In addition, step counting is a disaster while driving. I see most of us have same issue, after updating firmware situation is even worst.
