+1 on the vagueness of the "what was fixed" blurb (it said nothing).l

1. I think "10 minutes" is way too optimistic.
2. After about 20 minutes, with the progress bar close to half way, the update stopped, the device synced, and I still had the pink Update message. Giving that another chance now. Approaching about a third of the way done.
3. Lots of notification tones on my Android 9 Pixel about how Fitbit is updating. Do we really need to know that three or four times?
Edited to add: Apparently this progress bar never finishes. It just gets to a seemingly random point and starts over again. Pretty funny. At least I know with 100% certainty that I'm going to be late for my appointment.
Edited a second time to add: Took over an hour with the Fitbit connected to the charging cable and with the Pixel connected to the charging cable. Both devices were over 90% charged when I started down this road.
Eventually the progress bar on the phone stopped resetting and the screen moved into an "installing" message. The tiny progress bar on the fitbit itself apparently is the only indication we get regarding installation progress.
After all that, I have no real idea what these "bug fixes and improvements" are. I still can't customize the fitbit display to get rid of water intake and weight tracking, so no improvement there. Maybe the bug that caused the app to suck the life out of my phone battery was fixed?
So, all things considered, I'd say this upgrade consumed at least twice its own weight in human patience, and I still don't see any benefit.

Bug fixes and improvements is not at all informative. Good grief!

I just attempted the update for the Fitbit Inspire HR and now my Fitbit is totally dead. I contacted customer service and nothing could be done. I have to now try to return to Walmart and try to get a refund or ask Fitbit to send me a new one. I’ve only had this Fitbit for 3 weeks.

Hi i am having the same update issue as others mentioned, ie it updates till a certain point and then it just restarts... its been more than 30 mins now and 3 restart....
Any ideas on whats going on?
So quick idea, it seems everytime my phone goes in standby it restarts the update. So im trying to turn off the phone standby and see if it helps with installing the update. Ill let you know if it works.
Nope still not updating....

I have finally received the update option for my Inspire HR, but after trying it again and again, restarting both my phone and my Fitbit, I can’t get the update to go through. When I restarted my devices, my Fitbit finally synced my statistical information (after 18 hours despite being set to “all day sync”), but the update starts, looks like it’s loading, and it either just quits or gives me an error message that “something went wrong”. I’m extremely annoyed since while I love the look and comfort of the Inspire over my Charge HR, the fact that I can’t sync half the time, can’t complete the update, and having the clock on the device be up to 30 minutes slow at times is really making me feel like this was a waste of money. I understand that sometimes devices can have bugs, but the problems everyone in this forum are experiencing are a little much.
I would appreciate some tips above and beyond the published troubleshooting to help me get this update to go through.

Same here... taking a really long time using WiFi and with my fitbit on my wrist right next to my phone.

Firmware update said up to 10 minutes on my screen and it took almost an hour. Meanwhile, it did not track any of my steps.

My update worked fine, although it took significantly longer than 10 minutes
Was the screen with the resting BPM there in the previous version of firmware? I don't recall seeing that before.

Mine updated fine. I took my watch off and set it right next to my phone. It took more like 30-40 minutes. Working fine so far and the screen is much brighter which I love!

Im at my 10th attempt to update... still nothing. Took the fitbit off and put it next to my phone charging... but still nothing. it just stops updating...

Try the update on a full charge. My Inspire was fully charged and I had no problems. Just took longer than was specified.

It finally worked once it was fully charged... just have some patience i guess...

Hi all. Thanks for posting about your firmware update experience!
For those of you who took more than a few tries to update, I want to you for your efforts! I am glad to see that many of you were able to get updated successfully.
As a @SunsetRunner mentioned above, I would definitely recommend making sure your Inspire or Inspire HR is fully charged and/or attached to the charger while you attempt the update. Thanks for the help!
Also, I appreciate the feedback in terms of the length of time this update had taken for a few of you. I will be sure to forward this info to our engineering team.
For anyone who may still be having a hard time updating, I recommend performing each of the steps detailed in this article. Feel free to let me know if you run into any hangups.

I updated fine. Wasn’t watching time but it was less than an hour
Now, just wish I knew what fixes to look for

Mine succeeded after about 40 minutes -- with no problems except for the worries because it was so much slower than "up to 10 minutes." The Inspire HR was on the charger and went from 50 to 90% while this was all going on. It seemed to launch slowly on the phone, then showed 1/3 on the phone and barely a dot on the Inspire. 5-10 minutes later the phone was at 70% with the Inspire at about 30%. That held for at least 20 minutes. Then the phone went to "Installing" and next I noticed the Inspire was at maybe 2/3. About 10 minutes later I heard the Inspire vibrate and saw everything was done. Along the way the phone gave a notification noise about 5 times. The Inspire measure steps and sync'd fine after everything.

I finally got the update after an hour of trying and failing with a battery at over 80%. I ended up plugging my Fitbit into the charger and it completed while charging... but did take another 45 minutes to download and install. The update took much longer than the initial setup did less than a week ago.

Well, mine has been updating for more than 30 minutes... my phone and the tracker are 2 inches apart and my internet is fine.
