Inspire counting steps while sleeping or not being worn

It's keeping record of steps (that I'm not taking because I'm sleeping) and when I'm not wearing it. How can I fix this? Thanks!

@Jesuslovesandsa, welcome! It's great to see you around!

Let me help you with your tracker counting steps. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen when driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.

Now when it count steps when not wearing it, this could be due to external factors like a fan/ ac unit, computer or other electronics causing vibrations that your tracker may detect as steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks! I do have a air purifier that I use. Maybe it's that? It's just odd to me because this just started happening a few days ago and I've had my Fitbit for almost a year. I never had complications before until just recently. I'll keep you posted!

Mine is sitting on an end table, not near anything.  So far everyday it registers steps like you wouldn't believe.
Not happy at all with the Inspire line.
