Inspire losing steps

My tracker has lost thousands of steps somehow. I have a sync set up with MyFitnessPal and that app shows 7221 steps syncing across but in the Fitbit app and on the tracker, it shows only 4124. I went for a run today which was at least 4000 in itself. I’ve not had this happen before so if anyone has advice I’d be grateful. If it’s of any help, the run I did was tracked using Runkeeper which syncs into MyFitnessPal which syncs in as exercise in the Fitbit app. I’ve had this setup for a long time so am reasonably confident that’s unrelated as it’s never caused this before.

@Supleger I hope you're doing well!

Did you also wear your Inspire when you went out on your run? If you only depend on the third party app then it could happen that the data wasn't synced or was deleted from your Fitbit app. I suggest you check if the run shows on your Fitbit app, if it doesn't then manually log it. I would also recommend you wear your Fitbit Inspire on your activities.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I wore it on my run. As mentioned, I’ve had this setup for some time and did nothing different today than before so it’s unlikely that it has anything to do with the run I expect. The run shows in the app the same way it does each time.

@Supleger thank you for the additional data. Have you tried removing any logged activity that overlaps with the actual tracked activity from your tracker. When you manually logged an activity (either you enter the information or a third party app logs it for you) this will overwrite whatever data your tracker recorded. Try to see if this helps showing the steps on your Fitbit account.

See you around.
