Make sure that your Fitbit Inspire isn't in the clip mode as this will prevent it from detecting sleep. Your device will start recording sleep after it detects an hour of inactivity. If you have a light sleep or move too much then this may difficult your sleep detection. Additionally you can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand to decrease the amount of movement it is subjected to. Finally you can restart your device. You can also manually log your sleep time. You can read more about sleep detection here.

I am having the same issue with my Fitbit Inspire not tracking my sleep. The sleep indicator on my Inspire keeps going gray and tapping the screen does not reactivate it. I have tried force stopping the app, and I have restarted my Inspire - - - nothing works. I have only had the Inspire for a few months, this should not be happening. The first time it happened I was able to force stop the app and restart my Inspire - that got the sleep tracker working again for a couple of days. On the second day, it tracked my sleep until midnight - then it stopped again and the sleep indicator on my Inspire is grayed out again. Nothing gets it going again. Yes, I could manually log my sleep - but I could have done that without spending $$$$ on a tracking device. Please help, as none of the solutions I'm reading about online are helping at all. Thank you.
