How can I register an activity after completion? -  My Fitbit Inspire HR device did not pick up a 90 minutes visit to the Gym (and yes, I did exhaust myself 😅), so would like to register after the fact. However, the App only offers me hike, walk and run and the search field is not able to find any other type of activity.

Hello again,

So my reply to you was my first in the Fitbit community and I was not able to attach screenshots, but I am now so here goes.

  • Log into your account on the Fitbit website (not the application on your phone).
  • You should see a page that looks like the one below:

  • Click on  "Log" at the top of the screen (see screenshot below).
  • Click on the "Activities" tab and a list of "Activity History" will then populate below.

  • In the bottom right of the page you will see "Activities." And at the very bottom of the list you can create whatever custom activities you would like.

  • These heading will then populate when you add a manual activity in the actual Fitbit app on your mobile device.

  • Click the "Add" button (seen in the above screenshot)
  • Then click on "Log Previous" (seen in the screenshot below)

  • Start typing in the "Excerise Type" field. The default types will populate when you begin typing and also now the ones you have added previously with the steps we went through above.

Hooe that clarifies it more for you, but let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help further.

Hi JohannesS,

I figured this out a few weeks ago and wish I could attach screenshots to make this even more clear for you but the forums do not allow me to.

While inside the app you click on the "+" in the excerise tab. You'll see the Tracking Tab appear with a map. Near the top there will be another heading called "Log Previous." Click on it and then in the search line you can search for the excerise you want to manually log.

This gets a little sketchy because the list is hit and miss but if you log into the Fitbit website you can add your own Favorite list of excerise to manually track (or edit after the app has incorrectly labelled your excersises). For instance they have "Ice Skating" but I am a Hockey Official so I created my own "Officiating (Ice Hockey)" excerise on the website that now populates in the app.

I hope that makes sense. I've turned on the "Email me when someone replies" option for this post so if it isn't clear enough, simply reply and I will try to do a better job of explaing.

Sorry, this does not seem to help.

1: I can follow it when you say: “Near the top there will be another heading called "Log Previous." Click on it and then in the search line you can search for the excerise you want to manually log”, however the search field does not find me anything (running Fitbit App on iOS, connected to Inspire HR)
2: Not sure I understand “This gets a little sketchy because the list is hit and miss but if you log into the Fitbit website you can add your own Favorite list of excerise to manually track”, because I can not find a place where I can add my own favorite list.
