Stairs not tracking

My new fitbit does not track flights of stairs.  Our bedroom is on the second floor and I go up and down stairs about a million times a day but it says zero flights.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi @Jodester  the Inspire series doesn't have an altimeter, so it can't recognize flights of stairs. There isn't anything you've done wrong. Your Fitbit simply can't track the stairs.

Well, that's weird. I wonder why they would include Stairs as one of the things measured if it doesn't measure them?   Stairs appear on the device as you scroll through, and they are a category on the Dashboard.  Why include a feature that doesn't exist?

I went to the Fitbit Store and did a comparison of both of the Inspire products - click to go there. It doesn't track stairs. Guess you're sure as to the style Fitbit you have.

Yeah, I did the same thing.  It's definitely the Inspire HR, and it definitely has a stair icon as I scroll through.  But it only reads zero.

Are you saying the stair icon is on the Inspire?

I have a hunch I know what's going on.  I have an old Fitbit One that I haven't used in a couple of years and now I can't find the charger for it.  So I decided to get a new Inspire HR so I could have the HR feature.  I logged into my Fitbit account and added the new device.  So....it probably has the stairs icon listed on the Dashboard because I used it with the old Fitbit.

I was wondering about that. If your one is still attached to your account, then yes that is why you see the stairs and why I asked if the icon was seen on your wrist.
