I’ve just recently bought an Inspire HR Fitbit and wondered about wearing it whilst on treadmill. Do I need to change any settings? If I don’t hold the bars my steps register but as soon as I grab the bars the steps cease to register.
Best AnswerYou probably won't get steps if holding hand rail. Fitbit can't tell what your legs are doing. It recognizes steps from your regular arm swinging as when walking. But you would still get calories and active minutes from your increased heart rate.
If steps are more important to you, you will probable get better step count if put tracker in pocket or somehow clipped onto clothing, but then lose heart rate data for that time.
