When I do my walking outdoors I use two walking sticks to help me with balance. I have found that the fitbit will not always count every step since I alternate the the sticks. So it counts every other step. I will occasionally do my walking workout on a treadmill. Because I have a balance problem I hold on to the horizontal bars when I walk. I have found that the fitbit does not count steps if I hold on to the bar. If I let go it will count the steps. How can I use the fitbit to count steps if I hold on to the bar? Will the fitbit work properly if I strap it to my ankle? I  solution or this fit bit is just not going to be very useful for me.

I would wear it on your ankle. I think it would be best because of your balance problem

Have the same problem I'm in a wheelchair if I'm home or a vehicle it counts steps but when I walk at home with a quad cane doesn't count that many steps, yesterday I  walked for 15 minutes non-stop it was telling me I only walk 25 steps just don't understand
