how to manually sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Having looked through the help pages I am unable to manually sync my Inspire.

The help says tap this button or that button but these buttons dont appear on my screen.

I have to say this is not an uncommon occurrence with the help pages - giving instructions that are not achievable or perhaps out of date

I would be grateful for help from somebody who has manually synced

You can sync by opening the app on your phone and swiping downward.

I use a Windows 10 desktop and my Inspire HR does not seem to want to sync despite having the all day sync switch on. It also regularly disconnects
It means I need to manually sync an awful lot.
Trouble is on the dashboard and all the other screens there is no button to manually sync.
This is despite all the instructions and helpful advice to tap the relevant button etc

The only solution I have found to overcome this problem is to go back to Microsoft store and reinstall and launch the Fitbit app.
When I do so another dashboard layout appears (an earlier version I think)
The relevant button can be found on this version - it usually involves letting the Fitbit app itself re-pair with my Inspire.- but it means I can sync
Perhaps Fitbit could look into this if they have not already

As a newcomer to this forum it seems a lot of the posts are about syncing difficulties.
In my 6 months of using the Inspire, syncing is the big problem for me.

Ah sorry -- I had assumed you had the app on a phone. Yes sync can be an issue regardless.

I thought I might ask if there is anyone out there who knows where the sync now button is on the Fitbit app when using a Windows 10 computer.

It does not appear anywhere on the app when loaded from a saved website, but it does appear when I relaunch the app from the Microsoft store.and get a different settings screen .

Hi @resmus  do you use a device other than your computer to sync? With my old Windows 8.1 app, I would see "sync now" on the Fitbit Connect program. It will sync every twenty minutes or so if you have new steps to upload.

Hello Odyssey13 thanks for your input

I use a desktop Windows 10 with and without a Bluetooth dongle.

To keep the Inspire syncing I have tried every possible method/configuration I am aware of.

I have found that the only effective method is to force it to connect and sync using the sync now button - often several times over until it succeeds..

It is all a bit tiresome to have to relaunch the app to get access to the settings screen with that button on it and to have to keep at it.

From only a brief scan through this forum it seems syncing is a common problem.

I am hoping that someone from Fitbit could help me out.

@resmus  is this an upgraded Windows 10 or was the computer an actual Windows 10? It works a bit differently on a computer.

Thank you Odyssey13

My computer is 2 years old and came with Windows 10.

It has very recently had a regular Windows update (which took 6 1/2 hours !)

When I have the website app and the Microsoft launched (older style) app in 2 windows at the same time.the Microsoft launched app syncs and the other does not or only after some delay.

This suggests to me the problem is not with the tracker, not with Windows 10 and not with the Bluetooth connection, but a problem with the later style app.

I haven't taken the plunge to Windows 10, but seems it will be my next desk top. Since I'm not familiar with the app, I've notified a moderator about your post and they should be able to assist you with this.

@resmus Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you syncing your Inspire HR with your Windows 10 computer. Also thank you @fanofpi and @Odyssey13 for your kind help here. Usually if you are using the Fitbit app on your computer you can click the tracker's icon on the top right corner of the app. There you will see the sync icon where you can click it to sync your device.

Hello Alvarofitbit

The problem is that my Inspire does not willingly sync most of the time.

The status is "paired but not connected"

I have done all the suggested solutions, Bluetooth on and off, update drivers, refresh Bluetooth support, add an extra Bluetooth dongle (which helps a little) and several others. None of them work

The only solution that I have found effective is to force it to sync by tapping the sync now button - sometimes many times - and this often includes getting the Fitbit app to repair with the tracker.

This can be very tiresome and tedious.

It does not help that on the Fitbit dashboard app (using the website) the sync now button is not to be found or at least I cannot find it

However relaunching the Fitbit app brings up a different dashboard and one that is not a website.

I attach screen prints of the 2 types of dashboard.
