50% replacement offer question

Didn't see an all trackers general forum, so I'll throw this in here, not sure if there was a better place

I see in this link
https://www.reddit.com/r/fitbit/comments/6y81ed/i_could_use_a_little_clarification_on_my/

There was some discussion of the 50% replacement offer sometimes offered to warranty claims not pertaining to the Ionic, as they list that as a smartwatch when the replacement offer specifies tracker. Though, in that post, the Ionic also wasn't in stock, so it may have been on the offer later, the conversation ended with that question too.

I'm wondering if the Versa would be in that offer, if one accepts a 50% replacement offer. Anyone get that offer for a tracker (charge, alta, etc) and see the proper "smartwatches" on the offer?

The discounts never apply to the smartwatches unless it is the item being replaced.

It applies to simalar in price range devices

Not really, now you can use it for the Ionic but not for the Verso.

I had a Fitbit blaze and it was faulty. I contacted Fitbit and they offered me 50% of the value of my blaze to go towards another Fitbit device or a replacement. I decided to take the 50% offer and was able to get the versa.

Thanks, when was this? And do you have the name of the team member?

Just recently. I’ve only had my versa for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately
I’m not sure who the team memeber was. I’m sure if you talk to someone
through the chat or email then they will also confirm this. When I chose
that option it took me to the Fitbit shop to purchase what I wanted and the
50% was deducted from the total.

Thanks, but they keep telling me it is not possible. Maybe I Should open a new ticket and ask somebody else.

Yes I think you should do that. Did you get the email that gave you the
list of options that you could take? Eg- 50% off new device, exchange you
current device?

Yes, they did but not for the versa.

That’s strange. Can I ask which Fitbit you are wanting replaced?

The Surge. Do you think that would explain it?

Hmmm... I really don’t know. It’s a smart watch too so I don’t u sweat and
why you can’t pht the 50% to another device. I pretty much got a voucher to
redeem at checkout. Maybe try contacting them again.

Strange. I recently got the 40% replacement offer for my fitbit (i assume I have 40% because I live in the EU), and first they said I can use it for àll Fitbits, but later when I contacted them again to ask why I could not buu the Versa with it I was told their policy excluded the Versa.

So others have been able to buy it with the discount?

I did. I must have been a lucky one. 🤔🤔

That is what I read, yes. So I do not understand why they discriminate. The Ionic is more expensive, so their 'loss' is bigger than on the Versa.

That makes sense.

Honestly just seems down to the Versa being their best seller in a while, or at least top grossing. They have more expensive models but I almost never see them, while the Versa is in the middle and has been around.

After returning my 5th ionic, I asked to get the versa at a discount as I was over the Ionic and was told no!

The Versa replaced the Blaze so that's why you could get a discount towards that one
