First off, the Versa has been terrific. I have had it since Monday afternoon, it made it to last night before needing to go on the charger (with a couple GPS connected exercises included in there), is very comfy, screen is crystal clear all the time even in very bright sun. But I have had a couple things of note:

  • Day one with it, after a long firmware update, it synced once and then had a lot of trouble syncing again. Didn't sync up for almost 6 hours honestly. But then, it started syncing and has had no issues since. Constantly syncs in the background. I made no changes to settings to get this going again.
  • Couple days ago, I had 63 active minutes and 8 of 12 hours active moving but those stats would not update in the app. They shows on the watch, but not the phone app. All other stats updated accordingly, steps, stairs, distance, etc. Watch, Bluetooth, and phone restarts did nothing. It wasn't until I went into the Android setting and Force Stopped the Fitbit app and then started it again that it picked up those stats. I did make Twitter support aware through Twitter with screen shots.
  • Speaking of active minutes, I had to set a higher threshold for the Active Minute activities. Example, walking through the grocery store would end up giving me 30 something minutes active. And trust me, I am not that excited about running to the samples at the cheese counter (don't judge me, lol). I found I had to set the multiple exercises that are detected (workout and walking specifically) to be 20 or 30+ minutes to be auto detected, otherwise I felt like I was getting active minutes I didn't actually earn. Didn't see to have that issue with the Blaze. Maybe the Versa is more sensitive.

Has anyone else with a Versa had any minor issues? All my problems have passed or have been resolved now, and I love this watch a ton.

So sorry you are having such a headache with your Versa. I’ve been fortunate that I haven’t had any issues, really, with mine.
Hope things get worked out for you. I guess some people don’t realize that if you don’t take care of your customers, someone else will.

Thanks. Fortunately, I had a very easy exchange through Best Buy. They really helped me through that ordeal with Fitbit. Anyhoo, my second versa works as advertised for about a week so far. From what I’ve been reading and through personal experiences, I’ll see how it actually holds up around a months time lol or if I get the new update which I hear is a nightmare also.

My fitbit versa was bought through fitbit because I had the fitbit charge hr  first but it broke where you charge it. The replacement charge hr did the same thing in less than 6 months. Because it was the replacement one the warranty was void. So I then ordered the versa because of being water proof. So I have had 3 devices that have all been defective. I now wonder if the product is worth the effort. What if the replacement versa breaks in a week ,will it be replaced with a new one or will they honor the device?  Fed up with fitbit!

My Fitbit blaze started shutting down with a full batter, it was still in  warranty. Returned it to fitbit for repair. Got tired of waiting for it, so I purchased the versa,  had the versa 3 days and I had the same problem you are, I took it back to Target  after emailing Fitbit and not getting a response back. And I'm still waiting for my blaze back. Getting ready to quit Fitbit.

Me too! were you swimming with the versa that is supposed to be waterproof? or was it a different problem?

Best Answer

Hi, I was not swimming, I was at a 10% battery, so i put it on the charger over night.  Woke up in the AM, put it on to go to the gym, when i went to log into an exercise it wouldn't do anything. I restarted it several times, recharged it, logged out of my account, and nothing helped . I was so upset, I really loved it for the first 2 days.

I had the same problem.

my versa lasted less than a month, after about 20 emails and 3 weeks later they have sent me a new one, problems is I wanted a refund.

so now I have a brand new one that I’m going to sell because I have no confidence in it, problems is if I sell it on eBay the buyer will probably be chasing me for a return and refund in a few weeks time.

i would never buy another Fitbit, the customer service is poor.

Update the Fitbit app on phone. That's the first think todo.

Most of the issues are with bluetooth connectivity.

I am so sorry you are having such a problem with the Versa. I got mine a couple weeks before it hit the stores and I’ve had no issues with it. I started with the One back in 11/2012 and kept it all the way til 2/2017 when I got the Charge 2. Loved that one too. I love my Versa and I’m so happy I got it.

Did you get your Versa from Fitbit or a retail outlet? Most places will take them back at less than 30 days. Fitbit has a 45 day return so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t refund your money.

As for selling the Versa, you sell it as is in a sealed box. The buyer claims he got it as a gift and Fitbit should help them.

Fitbit has grown so big so fast that it’s hard for them to keep up. I know a lot of people have had issues with their Versas but there’s many more out there working the way they should. I’d call Fitbit back and just tell them you want to return both the bad one and the one they sent you for a refund. They have a phone number on the website now so you can call.

Got the versa less than 2 months back.

Had issues before using android note 4.

1. Updated play store fitbit app
2. Versa firmware update. Search google to do how.

Now problems gone.

I LOVED this watch, but unfortunately it died on me. The screen would come on and off without warning. I thought it was dead, but it just konked out on me. Apparently this has happened to lots of other users.

I also had trouble with syncing AND sometimes my heart rate reading would be ridiculous (190+ as I’m driving. Wth?!). I went to exchange it at my WalMart but they were out of stock. After reading all the issues, I’m just accepting my returned money and carrying on sadly without it.

This  Versa is a piece of crap! I have spent days researching and reading the trouble shooting posts. I have tried everything suggested and this thing still will not properly calculate my miles walked. Unlike most complaints I have read, mine is giving me more miles than I believe I walked. Beyond frustrated!!!

I was having several issues with my Versa. I got it two days ago and originally it took 6 hours to do the firmware update because it kept disconnecting from Bluetooth. It didn’t track my sleep and wouldn’t stay connected to Bluetooth. I did a factory reset (bad idea since I had to do the update again). It was doing the same thing as the first time so I cleared the cache from my phone and updated my iOS to the newest version. As soon as my phone finished updating it immediately synced with the versa and started the update. I’m hoping this will fix my issues because I just got the versa and would love if it worked instead of having to return it. This is my 3rd Fitbit but the first one I have ever had issues with. My charge and charge 2 worked great and never had problems.
