Calorie count too high

Hi all,

I have recently purchased my fist fitbit and i am having trouble with the calorie count. I didnt wear my fitbit to bed and when put it on this morning it was already at 380 calories and then i went for an hour walk and it says that i have already burned 1325 calories for the day which cannot be correct.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions how i can get it to correctly track my calories burnt in a workout?

Fitbit includes BMR (basal metabolic rate) calories, those you burn just by being alive.

These usually account for at least half of daily calorie burn.

Those would be the calories you see on waking.  They are counted even when you are not wearing the tracker.

See How does my Fitbit device calculate calories burned?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thanks for your prompt reply!

Ok that makes sense. I can now just look at the individual workout calorie count. Thank you:)
