Hi there, @eddieleet. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Please note that the battery on your Versa 3 is not replaceable nor interchanged. We as Fitbit do not do it or suggest to do it as it could permanently damage your watch.

Keep in mind that your Versa 3 was designed to last 6+ days, but this also depends on how frequently you use all the features of your watch. Said that, I recommend charging your Fitbit watch with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much.

After following the above suggestion, please check this help article for more tips and recommendations.

Hope this helps.

Hi @eddieleet  - the battery cannot normally be changed, but issues with the battery are often not a battery problem at all, but with too many features being used all the time draining the battery fast.

My watch battery is draining faster than it use to and I have not changed my settings. I do not use the snore detector. My watch face is not on all the time and I don’t even use the phone or listening features. This use to last 4-5 days now it’s down to 2. Is there anything I can do?

Hi @CootieGirl - have you checked the useful information in the article posted in the first reply?

Yes honestly I only use my watch for steps and an alarm. This one is already a replacement for one I had where the face popped off. It was working fine for about 3 months and now it is draining very fast. I am just being proactive as I am going on a trip next month and don’t want this watch to completely die on my trip.

@CootieGirl - did you remove the SpO2 tracker app from the Gallery tile?

Did you restart both watch and phone and try turning off Bluetooth for a few days?

A few steps to try, as the battery isn't replaceable and it's likely to be something else anyway.

Yes on the SpO2 app.

and yes on the restart.

Bluetooth I thought only was on is I was using the GPS to track my walk or when I synced and not on all the time.

@CootieGirl  - if you use GPS it will eat your battery.

For example, if you walk 2 hours each day, after only 2 days, 3 days of battery life will have been used without counting other use.

In other words 8 hours of GPS will exhaust the battery without counting other use and assuming a fully charged brand new battery.

Bluetooth is used for syncing and sometimes if there is a problem it can use a lot of battery.

For the watch restart also consider syncing and doing a full Shutdown from the watch Settings menu. Wait at least 10 seconds before placing on the charger to restart it and charge it.

Ok I did the shut down and then charged. Battery still lasting only 2days. Doing a 2nd shutdown now to try again.

@CootieGirl - if you manually start an exercise do you swipe up and check the settings and turn GPS off?

Have you also logged out if the app and restarted your phone, just in case there is a sync issue.

If nothing helps can you chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & support, Contact Customer support, they may be able to see why/when the battery is draining.

It seems that no one here or in other threads about battery life has acknowledged the absolute certainty that all lithium batteries have an end of life. ALL batteries reach a point where they don't recharge. What then?

Fact: I have a 18 month old versa 3 that holds a charge for 8 hours.  Toss it in the trash or get it repaired?

Exactly same issue I'm having. Thought it's cos it's second hand

This laughable.  Don't try and replace battery. It will ruin watch. It is already dead and unworkable.

Hi @toyotaroadrunne  - what is wrong with your watch, it is most likely not the battery?

Just in case it won't work have you checked this link How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

@toyotaroadrunne - thanks fo details, unfortunately it would seem the watch has internal damage, possibly from water ingression and generally will not recover, even if left in a bag of rice for some days.

It may last a bit longer than an hour but can behave erratically. If it's under warranty get it replaced and if it gets hot while charging stop immediately.

Nothing she said would indicate damage, water or otherwise. Just making stuff up.

Try this: disable everything, set to a very basic clock face, charge it up, and time how long it takes to die completely. If it still discharges relatively quickly, then the battery is probably fried. If it lasts for several days, then you might try doing a reset and update to clear out whatever software issues may be running out of control.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your input.

Hi @Nleoncavallo - thanks, however there are no features or glitches that will cause a watch to deplete the battery within an hour, only a fault will cause this.
