Fitbit Update 8/23/18:

Hey, everyone! Just wanted to thank you all for your participation in this thread.

Since the majority of Versa users have successfully updated to OS 2.1.1 (v32.32.10.15) I have decided to close this topic from further comments.

If you still have not updated your Versa to OS 2.1.1, check out this help article for how to update your device. Please complete this update so that you're prepared for the next release.

If you are experiencing an issue with your Versa unrelated to the firmware-up process, I invite you to start a new topic on the Community or find a related topic.

Fitbit Update 05/11/2018: We have released Fitbit OS 2.1 to 100% of Versa users (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15).

Hi, everyone! Smiley Happy

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15)

We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT’S NEW

Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?

WHAT’S FIXED

This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.

I recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article

If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

I noticed that after the update that all notifications work, but they disappear from the versa once they are cleared off of the phone.  I dont think that was the behavior before the update.

You are correct. But from my point of view that is the correct behavior (at least I expect only such behavior) - why should I dismiss a notification twice (once on Versa, once on phone)?

If I delete a message from the versa it stays on my phone—iPhone 7plus. It makes sense to me, I sometimes like to save message threads.

@wizaard, your point of view is correct. This is the standard for smartwatch dismissal in Pebble, Samsung, Apple, and Google. That's how it's supposed to work. There's no need for redundancy, and that's why they follow this protocol.

@guitarwomanSomething is wrong with your setup then. The behavior you are describing was the case before the latest FW update. Now with 32.32.10.20 when I clear a notification on my Versa it is cleared from my iPhone 6S Plus, too.

I’ve got the update that ends with 15. Notifications are not so much of a big deal for me so I’m okay with the current situation. Sleep tracking is, and with workarounds I’ve go that going well.

Try skipping setting up wifi when setting it up. see if that works. It has for me. I receive notifications. its a work around for now.

Would someone on the 20 version please check if the custom exercise stats are saving? Clearly @AlessFitbit is not going to respond. If it's not a feature you use, just tap on the settings flower in the upper left corner of an exercise, tap on customized stats and make changes. Then exit and sync and see if the changes stick.

Of course, just because it might be fixed in that release, that doesn't mean that "existing" customers are ever going to rate an update...

Yes, just go in to the fitbit app, click the watch at the top, should show Versa and a bin in the top right corner, click it to remove the versa. and then click add device and when going through click skip wifi setup.

I am not sure the version number is the magic factor.  I thought it was based on posts here (it seemed those who got .20 were able to save custom stats), but in the Ionic forum (I also have one of those), some people have seen the issue fixed with .15 (some have not).  I refuse to update my Ionic because aside from the custom stats issue, it actually functions (unlike my Versa since the update).

Then again, maybe it is fixed in .20-for the new customers only of course.

@duck_puddle And the funny thing is, I never had this problem with my Ionic. But I have small wrists and the Versa is much more comfortable and much less stupid looking. If I was smart, I would stop giving my money to Fitbit (been doing that since the very first model). Clearly, I am not smart.

@meresydotes That’s exactly the reason I got the Versa as well.  I was hoping to just swap out for the Ionic for GPS activities, but alas - such conveniences are not to be.  I think I should also stop giving Fitbit so much money.  I’ve got a whole drawer full.

I think it was an app update in early April (???) when it started on my Ionic.  It just feels like an eternity.

I tried a forced reset and the original version of the OS was reinstalled. A couple of days ago I got the Pink update notification and installed. The version installed was the .15

My major problem with my Versa was ghost steps and floors being added while driving. Yesterday, after driving about half a day it clocked 15 steps (about right) and 56 floors. Of course I was either in the sleeper bunk or sitting behind the steering wheel. So, it seems to have tamed the ghost steps but is still wildly inaccurate on floor counts.

Apparently the .15 OS doesn’t know it should only count floors only if steps are being incrimented.

This time I brought the Charge 2 along and switched back to it at my next break.

I am on 20.  I changed an exercise duration and changed the exercise type.  It saved it.  Not sure if that’s what you are trying to accomplish.

@Bobled Thanks so much for testing! The problem is that the settings under Customized Stats revert to default after syncing. So if you tap on Customized Stats, then change one of the 3 options that pop up and exit and then sync, does it revert to what it was before you made the change?

I am on 20.  I changed the exercise type. Then synced the versa.  The exercise type stayed, it didn’t revert back.  So I think it works.

@Bobled I'm not sure what you mean by "exercise type." I'm talking about the setting in a specific exercise. You tap on the settings flower in the upper left corner of, say, treadmill in the Exercise app. Then tap on customize stats. There's 3 slots - top stat, middle stat, bottom stat. If you tap on the first or the third, the options for the slot change. If you tap on the middle, you can check options you want to see if you tap on the middle of the screen when working out. If you change those options then left button back to the home (clock) screen and sync, do the changes stick?
