I received my device this week and was very excited to use it. I ended up being at my desk most of the day on Friday and at the end of the day I had thousands of steps. In fact, simply eating lunch sitting at the table got me hundreds of steps. I called tech-support, they were useless basically had me double check settings and reset the device. This is a known issue. Fitbit is just not publicly stating it. There needs to be a fix or a hardware update or this device will not succeed. Tracking steps is a core function of this device, and that feature should work flawlessly. It should not be so sensitive that eating lunch or putting your make up on generates steps. Any assistance would be appreciated. If I can’t get this figured out in the next few weeks it will be getting returned to Amazon with a very negative review.

@Betsyk88 Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your Versa 2 counting steps when you aren't walking. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen while driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi, i'm having the same issue. I was sitting at my desk on a call and my Versa 2 added 600+ steps meeting my goal for the day. I'm already wearing it on my dominant wrist and I checked the settings. This is the first time this has happened but I've only had the watch since February. Any other suggestions, because what's the point of the watch of it's improperly calculating movement? It probably added to my burned calories and I'd like the info to be as accurate as possible.
