Hi There!
My versa loses connection with my phone (nexus 5x) during bike excercise and thus shows no route on the map. I know I have gps, because Strava app shows it right.
Is this a bug in the software from the Versa?
I tried to start an excercise from fitbit app, but only walk, run or hike does gps. (no bike. why not?!?) so i choose hike. now i have a hike excercise with hr and ps data. this this excercise shows after sync with strava in strava as hike. in strava i change hike in bike.
now i have bike excercise in strava with hr and gps. after a while just from magic, the ecercise in strava has been changed back into hike again with no hr data anymore.
I know that fitbit versa is not a swiss watch, but at least it should be working as advertised!
connected gps is not not working. People at Fitbit, can you fix this?

Best AnswerI am using an Android not an iPhone, I was bought the watch as a gift and they chose fitbit because it supposedly works well with Android.
The App version I have is 32.32.10.15.
The other code is version 2.81 (20213328).
My watch has completely stopped linking to my phone now, I can't review the stats, I can't use it for running (the main purpose for me) notifications are not being received! It's crazy for such an expensive piece of equipment. Please can you advise if I am able to return the product?
Best Answer32.32.10.15 -Fitbit Versa
Galaxy S8 G950FXXU4CR11
Fitbit 2.82 (20213330)
You need to get this sorted asap -you are loosing so much good will and brand loyalty.
Best AnswerAgree!
I use Motorola Android Droid turbo,
Firmware 32.32.10.15
App version 2.82
Constant GPS connection issues. I am on my 3rd replacement and none work consistently. I love the watch when it works (few and far between). I have been very patient. I really don't understand why Fitbit continues to sell new ones to consumers.🤔

- iPhone model you're currently using.
- OS version running on your phone
- Version of your Versa (in the Fitbit app tap on the picture of your Versa, on the next screen you will be able to find the version)
- App version currently installed on your phone (go to Account > Help to get it)
Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting to hear from you.
Phone: Moto E(4)
Android OS: 7.1.1
Versa Firmware: 32.32.10.15
Fitbit App Ver: 2.82 (20213330)
When tracking bike rides using connected GPS, on open road in the city, with the phone one foot from the Versa, the Versa continuously loses connection ("connecting" displays across the top) and fails to log mileage properly. Options for "Always Connected" and "Keep-Alive Widget" are both on. I have tried it with WiFi on vs off, with the phone location service set to GPS only vs high accuracy mode, opening and leaving active the Fitbit app on the phone, turning All-Day Sync off and on, tried it before and after deleting all other blue tooth devices from the phone, after rebooting the phone AND watch just before bike rides, turning power saving modes off on all blue tooth apps...all to no avail. Strava and MapMyRide log accurate mileage.
Motorola Android Droid turbo
Firmware 32.32.10.15
App 2.82
I have continuing GPS problems. On my 3rd replacement and none work. Love the watch when it works, rarely on bike rides. Can't believe Fitbit continues to sell Versa when they know it doesn't work.
Best AnswerIn regard to the connected GPS issues, perhaps some of you will find this useful. It does seem to work for me.

Please let me know if this solutions works for any Oreo users.
For Samsung devices I have also commented how App lock for Samsung Android devices with Oreo update is to be done in reply section of @Marrrmaduke post
I will also try this solution tomorrow on my run & comment.
Best AnswerI am using the iPhone X.

Best Answer@SunsetRunner If your Versa syncs without issues, this should work for you (hopefully) as you're on OP.
Best AnswerPhone: Pixel 3 XL

My issue seems to be connected GPS says 'connecting.....' if I have another device connected to my phone via BT, otherwise it's reasonably reliable for connected GPS.
However, I am surprised such a basic requirement of multiple devices connected is causing any issue. It's not as if BT is a new technology, it's over 20 years old now! I'm also very disappointed at Fitbit using a 4.0 received which is 7 years old version simply to save money and risk the issues that so many people are clearly having.
It's not really good enough when you spend a lot of money on their devices they should work!
Best Answerdon't understand why FITBIT can't just go back to version 2.74.2 of the app and see what went wrong afterwards. As this one didn't have issues with GPS. They need to hire talents from APPLE to get this resolve.
@coolman78 Funny that you mention that... This is the most stable build for me as well...
Best Answer@coolman78, @Marrrmaduke I agree that 2.74.2 was the best app version for the Connected GPS feature. However, if my memory serves me right, 2.74 was the app version that totally ate data and cost people without unlimited data real money. Patches were added to 2.74 (2.74.1 and then quickly 2.74.2) that stopped the excessive data usage. Do we really want to work with an app version that was problematic with patches added on? Was it that heavy data usage that permitted the Connected GPS to work so well? That would be my guess. Also, that was the last version to run under Android 4.
I am also quite disappointed that this problem persists 9 months after launch and I've come to believe that "Connected GPS" while great is concept just won't work in practice. My next purchase will be a tracker with a built-in gps. To date, I don't care for the look of any gps-containing trackers on the market except for the AW and, since I don't have an iPhone, that one isn't an option for me. I'll continue to hope and watch for a real fix but I've stopped expecting it. ![]()
