Hi There!
My versa loses connection with my phone (nexus 5x) during bike excercise and thus shows no route on the map. I know I have gps, because Strava app shows it right.
Is this a bug in the software from the Versa?
I tried to start an excercise from fitbit app, but only walk, run or hike does gps. (no bike. why not?!?) so i choose hike. now i have a hike excercise with hr and ps data. this this excercise shows after sync with strava in strava as hike. in strava i change hike in bike.
now i have bike excercise in strava with hr and gps. after a while just from magic, the ecercise in strava has been changed back into hike again with no hr data anymore.
I know that fitbit versa is not a swiss watch, but at least it should be working as advertised!
connected gps is not not working. People at Fitbit, can you fix this?
Moderator Edit: Updated Subject For Clarity.
Went for bike rides twice since the update. Versa and phone would not connect.
Best AnswerMy 20 mile bike ride registered as 5.9 miles.it continues to register fewer miles. It also registers many flights of stairs. I never climb stairs.HELP
Best Answer@Frank75 It seems to me the GPS is not connected during your rides hence no mileage tracked. The 5.9 that you're getting probably comes from credited steps. As to the stairs climbed, if you were going uphill, there was a difference in elevation and you were moving, you will get a floor count. No matter if you're walking on the street or biking. What is your phone model and OS? Also, which Versa firmware version are you running?
@Marrrmaduke I would think that one way to tell if the connection is intermediate as opposed to not at all would be to look and see if there is a GPS map.
Best AnswerUsing ....32.33.1.30

Best AnswerI just purchased a versa, and have a compatible device (pixel 2), fully updated as of yesterday IOS. Absolutely terrible connection to GPS. So disappointed. If I can't see a solution illI be returning it and saving for a different brand. This is the main function I wanted!!!!

Best AnswerI rode 11 miles today, and versa only picked up 9 of them. I haven't climbed a flight of stairs in a while, but it shows me climbing stairs. I'm sure part is me, but it shouldn't be this hard.
Best Answer@Frank75 Was the connected GPS on? If it was, you should be able to see recorded map in the FItbit mobile app. Can you post a screenshot? How does the map compare to your route?

Best AnswerThe connected gps is working on OS 3.0 (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30) but only with fitbit mobile app 2.74.2. Please make sure to lock the fitbit app.

Thank you - what do you mean when you say lock the app?
See this thread and post. If you have a Samsung phone, it's slightly different:

Best AnswerThe problem I face with 2.74.2 is yes GPS works, however, can't sync any watch faces or apps to the watch. It throws an error about connecting.
