Fitbit Versa won't pair

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought my Versa a couple days ago and have downloaded the Fitbit app to my iPhone. I followed the setup instructions for the Versa and get to the step where the watch is trying to pair with my phone. I input the 4 digit code form the watch into my phone and then the whole process stalls for hours. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps I can find on the forums and nothing works.

I've restarted the watch, I've restarted my phone, I've turned Bluetooth on and off, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app ... not sure what else to try. I like the watch and would like to keep it if I can get it to sync up but I'll have to return it if it won't sync. Any suggestions are welcome.

It's great to welcome you @DGMacK.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself and would like to know if you keep having issues pairing your Versa? If you do, I recommend taking a look at the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and follow the instructions provided there.

Let me know how it goes. Woman Happy

It took multiple tries over 4 days to get the Fitbit Versa set up initially on my iPhone 8 and it seemed to work well for 24 hours but today it won't sync again. It repeatedly starts to sync and then drops the bluetooth connection. I have deleted all other bluetooth devices so it's my only connection at this point. This is extremely frustrating because I like the watch and the features that it offers but if it won't deliver and function properly it's of no use. In reading the many posts this looks like a common problem so there must be a fix out there. Any feedback is welcome.

I tried downloading the FitBit app to my PC and syncing that way but I get an error message there that says I need to uninstall fitbit connect and any other apps that are interferring with the sync ... I don't have FitBit Connect loaded so I am at a loss as to what to look for or what is interferring but my watch still will not do a complete sync. It will sync far enough to pick up activities like steps etc. but won't sync the sleep data and Strava ride data etc. Anyone else having these partial sync issues?

I've had syncing issues with the Versa pretty early on. I thought it had been resolved, but yesterday I realized it hadn't synced since June 6th. I'm waiting to hear back from support, but you're not alone -- people are still having Bluetooth/WiFi/Syncing issues with Versa. I haven't had mine for 40 days yet and it's looking like a dud. If I'm asked to troubleshoot one more time I might lose it...but I'm also frustrated for the same reason you are -- I like the watch and its features. I know I can still get a refund, but why at this point is sunving and connectivity since a problem with the Versa? Fitbit is likely going to lose me if they can't get these issues with Versa figured out.

I feel your pain.  I have a Droid Turbo OS 6.01 and went through the checklist of permissions they recommended.  Nothing worked.  I then turned on the NFC Option to allow data exchange when the phone touches another device and allowed the security reminder to default yes for that option.  I tried to set up the Versa one more time after this change and it magically worked.  I don't know if it will continue to sync properly but so far so good for the set up.  I know my phone is older technology and that may be the cause of my problems.

After 2 weeks of frustration and trying everything I could find on the internet as well as suggestions from Fitbit mentor help, I finally took the Versa back to the Source where I had bought it. They offered me a new replacement watch or a refund plus offered me a full cash refund on the new watch if it didn't work properly ... so I took the replacement Versa and the entire installation process went flawlessly. It has been working perfectly for over 2 weeks now and I am very pleased with the product, it's a great smart watch when it works but it would appear that there are still quite a few quality control issues with the Versa and I would suggest that if it doesn't immediately install and sync properly ... take it back for a replacement or a refund (but I would still recommend the replacement option because if you get one that works, they really are a very good smart watch).

Thank you for your advice. So far. So good. You're right. It is a great
watch so I sincerely hope that things go well from here forward. Glad your
replacement watch was a keeper!

I bought my Versa through Amazon, and the first day it paired to my Iphone6, but wouldn't sync, so I started over and now it won't even connect with my phone.  And please, fitbit people, don't send me a link to the troubleshooting.  I've done all of that a million times.  It gives me the 4 digit code, and then says it's "connecting" but never does.  I've deleted and reinstalled fitbit, restarted my phone, restarted my watch, nothing works.

I've thrown out the packaging (stupid I know), am hoping they will still take it back and send a new one?  This is driving me crazy.

Hiya.. Tell me about it..
First it worked for me doing factory reset... Then the thing which works better is, 1),Uninstalling app2) unpairing versa from Bluetooth settings3) Reestarting the phone4),restarting the whatch, pressing middle and bottom touch at the same time, until u see fitbit logo
Ré start everything again... Install app, pairing, WiFi connection...
The down point.. It does work for one.. Or 2 days only... So seriously thinking of getting rid of fitbit..
I hope it does help!!
Good luck,

I'm having problems with mine too... it won't sync past today, so I have no data from yesterday according to the app... I've reset it, unpaired it and nothing seem so to be working.

@Chucarita @Eliz08 @sandracvrt Welcome! It's great to see you around! Sorry to hear that your Versa isn't syncing with your phone. You can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.

I called FitBit yesterday, and they were able to help me get everything reset - seems to be working just fine at the moment.
