Hello,
I have a Fitbit Versa running on version 72.1.19 (up to date as of 21-Aug-22).
Fitbit app version 3.65.1.
and iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 15.6.1.
For the last 2 days the watch syncs correctly with the phone and updates the data accurately (number of steps, heart rate, etc). However the notifications (emails and calendar reminders) non longer work and the whenever the phone app is accessed à pairing requests comes up.
i have gone through the forum-recommended steps to troubleshoot this without success and have also tried to remove the watch from the app and fully reinstall it with the same end result: recurring pairing requests.
please advise on a new troubleshooting sequence.

Hi, these instructions don’t work as there is a software error that has developed between the latest iOS update on iPhones and versa 2. There is no option to forget the device displaying on the iPhone, and trying to pair the watch sets up an endless loop between “pair” and “setup now” that never resolves as it won’t pair. This requires a software bug fix but neither apple or fitbit seem to be listening - how do we resolve this?

Same and I believe it’s due to the latest iOS update on iPhones - this issue happened for me as soon as I updated my phone on 19 august. My versa 2 is also suddenly draining battery as it’s endlessly syncing,

Hello @CJG1313
That’s odd that the blue information icon is missing so you can’t tap it to then next tap “Forget This Device”. I’ve had this happen with another item I had connected through Bluetooth. I was able to correct the issue by uninstalling the app associated with the Bluetooth connection, restart my phone and reinstall the app and then the blue information icon appeared correctly.
‘Maybe this will work for you as well. It certainly wouldn’t hurt trying it. You won’t lose any of your data reinstalling the Fitbit App.
Just log out of the Fitbit App then force shut the app by swiping it up. Next uninstall the Fitbit App, turn your Bluetooth off, restart your phone the turn Bluetooth back on. Reinstall the Fitbit App then log back in as you normally would with your email address and password.
😃Maybe that might help. Let me know how it goes.

Oh no…. Before I could still sync and not pair… now I also can’t sync. Good news you were right about no data loss… but I can’t get the device to be recognised by Bluetooth at all now. Have tried all combinations of power off and restarting. Bluetooth off etc. Any thoughts on next steps?

One last reply I promise! We got there! In a last ditch effort I removed the entire versa 2 from the app as a device and re-set it up again as a new device. Now have it back - syncing, pairing and even receiving notifications. No data loss. Thankyou for giving me the confidence to delete apps etc on the journey - I was worried about losing data if I started deleting things!

Hello MegaBite,
Thank you for what had been a prompt reply and thorough instructions. However, I can confirm it doesn’t correct the issue.
Despite the constant pairing request (when in the FitBit app of my iPhone) my Versa 2 still syncs correctly to download all the fitness tracking data (ie: # of steps, heart rate) but notifications such as emails and calendar entries no longer get sent to the watch.
I do suspect it’s an issue between the current iOS version and the FitBit app and/or tracker OS version histories.

Hello again @Zierra
I’m sorry that didn’t work for you. I did notice that you said in your first message your running Fitbit App version 3.65.1…the current version is 3.66. Try updating your Fitbit app to see if that helps address the issue your experiencing.
If updating the Fitbit app fails to address the issue I’d try setting up your Versa 2 as a new device. You will not lose any of your data setting it back up because it’s held on the Fitbit servers. Just make sure you sync your Versa one last time before following the instructions on setting it up again.
Here is how you set up your Versa 2 again as a new device. Please follow these instructions carefully:
😉 Hopefully this will address your constant pairing request issue. Please let me know how it goes.

Hi MegaBite,
I’m happy to report that your latest procedure did the trick. My Versa 2 is no longer requesting constant pairings and notifications are back to operational.
I think there were two main differences:
1. The app upgraded to version 3.66 since the first procedure; and,
2. The reset of the actual tracker.
Many thanks for the help!
