Goodbye to Fitbit

Since I performed the firmware update in December my Versa stopped working correctly. After several weeks the screen face stopped showing to where I could only see light. I tried everything under the sun that I could find on these boards to fix it. I even tried forgetting it off of my phone to see if that would "wake it up". Unfortunately, that made it where I couldn't use it at all because I couldn't see it from my phone anymore. Because I had already had a replacement when my warranty was still active (because the watch was faulty and water started seeping out of it) customer service would do nothing for me except the 25% off a new device everyone else was getting. I've had my comments deleted off the boards and been blocked to stating facts on here so as of yesterday I am officially a Garmin customer! My husband has been through 3 Spartan races with absolutely no trouble with his and no updates yet! I absolutely LOVED my Versa and I hate that Fitbit has destroyed these devices and their reputation. Goodbye and good riddance!

Which Garmin did you go with?  Exploring my options as I'm not staying with Fitbit.  Once my Versa dies, I'll be switching  to a different brand.

I know, right?  They have a lock on reviews so until this stuff happens to you there is NO warning.  I feel your pain!

I ordered the Venu. It seems like everything I loved about the Versa and more! Seems to have good reviews. I should receive it by Thursday.

That's the one I was looking at as well.  Please let me know how you like it once you're all set up.

I would check with Garmin to see if they support your phone.

They have a list of supported phones.

I begrudgingly had to jump ship in the last week as well.  I went with Apple since I could get a series 3 for the price of a Versa 2.  I've managed to strip down the superfluous apps and can navigate it as quickly as I could the Versa.  I was hoping to avoid perpetuating the Apple ecosystem in my house, but I needed the watch for tracking my swim workouts.

The Venu works perfectly with my phone and their minimum requirement is Android 5.0.  There are only a handful which may cause a problem (Hauwei, Lenovo S960, Meizu mx4 and Samsung J3)

Good to hear. I have a Samsung S10. I don't anticipate any problems. Thanks for the info!

Thank you for that! I have the same exact issue and my screen doesn't even turn on after the reset factory. I'm thinking of getting a different watch too and now that I see that people have already started to switch, I'm encouraged too.

I got the same 25% offer and I don't want to keep buying products that don't last very long.
