I have looked at many different directions to begin downloading personal music but there is no music icon on my dashboard anywhere.  Any suggestions?

How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?

FITBIT stop making its ICONIC watch (because there was an alleged overheating problem with IONICs - I never have experienced that), the only watch you could personally add YOUR own music to.  Since none of their other watch allow us to do it, I guess they decided it was no reason to have the music icon anymore.
