Hi all, I'm new to the Fitbit and have the Versa 2. This morning it is already showing I have done 600 steps and burnt over 500 calories, all I have done is get out of bed, walk downstairs, made a cup of tea and then sat on the sofa? Any ideas why it's so high?

I can explain the calories.
As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing includes the total BMR calories burned since midnight

Not sure if this applies to you but if you went to bed past midnight or went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it will count those steps towards your day. You can also check if you are in the correct time zone - is the time displayed correct?
Alternately you may have just discovered that you sleep walk, haha!

So it looks as though my settings are all correct and I definitely don't go to bed after midnight haha. Today it says I've done almost 6000 steps but I've been working from home, spent most of the day sat in meetings and not left the house once. In reality I think I'd be pushing 1000 steps today. Surely there has to be some sort of glitch. Do you know if there is a way of contacting customer support except via Twitter ( which I don't have).

Thanks, makes sense, the inactive days are showing 1300 calories a day (prior to me wearing it but once I put in my weight, height etc). I'm 5'2 and not particularly overweight, does that sound correct as I only seem to burn 250 calories when doing a HIIT workout or a 5k run so over 1300 for doing nothing all day seems very high?

My BMR calories for a day are around 1400 (I'm quite small) so yours sounds reasonable.
The step count does sound high - I get around 3000 if I'm at home all day. You could try wearing it on your non-dominant hand but have the setting for dominant. This should make it less sensitive. If you need to contact customer support then, as well as twitter, there is usually phone and webchat support options at contact.fitbit.com but it does vary by country. I have my country set to UK on that page and have both phone and web available.
