I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?
I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

@Lisamsz if your Versa has NFC chip, then yes. If you have gotten it in North America than it would have to be so called Special Edition. If you have bought it in Europe, all Versas sold there have NFC chip.

Thanks to all for their suggestions including Lisamsz who mentioned the fantastic support help at Fitbit. My Fitbit died for four days, made a miraculous recovery after putting it in rice for 24 hours (another suggestion from the community) but the battery can't stay charged for very long. I'm going to get a replacement but will not wear it in water for the future. I love my Versa and don't want to take chances.

Hey @badgerbitter, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Sounds great that you'll get a new Versa as a replacement. As I've been mentioning, the Versa is water resistance up to 50 meters under the water, so you should have no inconveniences if you submerge it.
I appreciate the update and if you have further questions or comments, let me know!

Thanks and perhaps it was a faulty battery. I was in the ocean for about 45 minutes max and didn't get my hair wet let alone go 50 meters under water. Maybe it was the salt water. Thanks Fitness support for standing by your product. My Fitbit is enroute.

I just returned my SECOND Versa under warranty because water got under the HR monitor (see pic) and made my HR look like I was running a marathon all day (I work a deskjob). I have never submerged the device and the only exposure to moisture either device has had is sweat and maybe occasional splashing when I wash my hands. I’ve always been meticulous about drying it if any water got under the band. I’ve had the charge HR and never had a problem with it, but the Versas are clearly NOT waterproof. I’ve had a Fitbit of some sort for over 5 years, but after this experience I think I may be done with them. Condensation behind the HR monitor

No it is not and is misrepresented in advertising. It’ll only be a matter of time before it dies. My first versa was ok in the shower, even did laps with it on several occasions and it was fine then one day died without ever being exposed to any water. The first one was replaced by Myer in store. I’ve had my second one for one month and it fizzles and died again without ever being submerged in water. So shall I try it for a third time?

I wear it in the shower every day, wash dishes and sometimes it gets wet!
i just asked FB if I could wear it
Scuba Diving only to 46 ft deep and they said I could dive down 165ft..
That makes me very happy..
and I hope you have no problems with your new one

I am now on my 4th watch over the past year. It has been my experience that the watch cannot sustain water. I take water aerobics classes 3 days a week for one hour and my watch fails after about 2 or 3 months. As I said I have had to return the fitbit Versa four times, so I have given up on getting the Versa wet. I am quite dissatisfied because I upgraded from Fitbit Blaze to the Versa because I want to track my activities in the pool.
