I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?
I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

On the website it says Fitbit Vera’s is swim proof. That is deceptive advertising. I’ve had my Fitbit less than a month and it is completely dead. I bought it because it was supposedly swim proof. If I pulled something like that in my line of work I would lose my job and licences and possibly go to prison

The fact they advertise you can swim with it and more importantly that it actually has tracking capability for.laps is ridiculous when I hear some people's Versas are dead! Abhorrent and deceptive! I'm quite disappointed in Fitbit right now. Quite!

I just now put my (not even 3 hour old) versa watch into a bowl of water, and ran it through the water faucet. After drying off everything my watch had no issue working again. Still I don't trust it enough to go swimming with, maybe showering.

Yikes, I just read the bit about not using it in the sauna.
That's what I did this morning.

@Velox wrote:You guys need to look up the correct meaning of water resistance and how it applies to watches before slating Fitbit. Although to be fair, the moderator is seemingly giving out some misleading advice which seem to go against some of the official wording on the watch.
The resistant to 50m only means it has to be able to sit in 10cm of water for an hour to be considered water resistant. You also have to consider that the swimming motion puts further water pressure on the watch as your arm is pushing into the water.
Really good write up below on what the numbers really mean and again, remember these are industry standards for what the resistant numbers actually mean in every day usage:

So per ISO 22810:2010 "Water Resistant to 50 meters" means it's ok to use for casual, not SCUBA diving, exposure to depths up to 50 meters.

To be honest.. it is all misleading and dishonest...
i am ok. cause i dont scuba dive..
I use my watch in my pool.. and never take it off.. this is why i bought it so i dont have to worry about putting it in the water..
sometimes i spend an hour in the pool .. and if it leaks. i will return it..
For anyone.. 50 meters mean you can swim with the watch.. i am sure it is not made to scuba dive.. but 50 meters is 50 meters.. if i go 5 feet under water and it starts leaking. then we have a major problem..
Again. that said.. my watch works great in water.. and have not had any problems... 😄

Per ISO 22810:2010 you can swim, not SCUBA, to 50 meters deep. For SCUBA you need to buy a certified dive watch.

I’m so confused. On this Fitbit webpage it says the Versa is Swim-proof.

ISO22810:2010 is the governing standard when claiming water resistance on non-dive watches. "water resistant to 50 meters" means swimming to a depth of 50 meters, about 160 feet deep, won't damage the watch. It is not likely you will be able to descend 160 feet in the water without SCUBA equipment. the average swimmer can maybe make it to 20 feet deep. Most swimming pools that have a diving board are about 10 feet deep.
If you SCUBA dive, get a dive certified watch.
Again, the water resistance rating on the FitBit is for casual swimming

Yes the Versa is waterproof, you can also swim with it on. All FitBits are water resistant except for the Zip. But only some of the fit bits are swim proof up to fifty meters. I swim with the Versa a lot. I only take it off when I charge it.

That’s really great to know, thanks!
I just find it confusing that the Fitbit website says you can swim with it. But then earlier in this forum Fitbit Moderator Alejandra said “I don't recommend swimming with it but if you do, please dry it after and check our wear and care tips”. And the wear and care tips say don’t get it wet. Haha.
So much conflicting info coming from Fitbit.
