Lost Lifetime Miles

I noticed this week that I lost roughly 3000 lifetime miles. Just to show what I'm looking at, I earned the Earth Badge (7,900 lifetime miles) on July 2, 2019 and have been active since. Last I checked I was somewhere in the 8,500 lifetime miles neighborhood. My dashboard currently has me at 5,383 lifetime miles. I did just do the update to my Versa and hope that did not erase miles. As well, the month was my 4 year anniversary  of using fitbit. Do lifetime miles expire?

It looks to me that the Fitbit dashboard decided that my 8,500 miles (last time I checked) were actually 8,500 Kilometers. It then made the conversion of Kilometers x .62 = Miles. So my 8,500 Kilometers (actually miles) x .62 = 5,270 miles on my dashboard. My dashboard currently reads 5,384 miles. Or I have been sleep walking backwards a lot lately 😀

I too have the same problem in that my total miles have greatly decreased.  I  have used a FitBit for 3 years 6 months now.  I am now using the Versa 2.

Hi, @matt-prouse and @TerryinHawaii.. I don’t think the “loss” of yur lifetime miles couod be related to updating your Versa, as once synced that information is stored on the Fitbit servers and not on the watch itself.

Is it possible that you have two Fitbit accounts with two different email addresses?  That could account for the discrepancy.

Sometimes there are odd hiccups in the data which get sorted out over time, so hopefully your miles may reappear.

I would suggest logging out of your account and logging back in again.

***EDIT***

Hi, both, since writing my answer I have learned that others have also reported this recently.  Fitbit engineers are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it.
