Hey there! I have had the Versa for a few days now. Loving it so far! Execpt for one thing, lol. I have only noticed one issue that seems software related either with the Versa or my phone. I have an Essential Phone PH-1. My issue is that I have been trying to get the music controls working to control my phone playing Spotify, Google music, ect... My phone recognized the Versa right away and would connect to Versa classic, but the Versa would time out and say "no devices found". However it will say it is connected to my phones bluetooth address. When I go to the music controlson the Versa the volume buttons work but there are no skip, play, pause buttons. Just the " start playing music on your phone" message. I have tried alot of troubleshooting. What I could think of and things I found on forums. Tried a factory reset too. Nothing has helped. Any help would be much appreciated. Just kind of annoying that a feature that is supposed to work, doesn't.

I have given up on my solution to complex. I just use either on watch for flying or just my phone.
Fitbit do not seem to care about support for these devices. No decent music controls nor UK banks.

I had exactly the same issues all of you are stating and was about to lose hope.
ButI have finally made the music control to work!!
Here's what you need to do:
On your phone: go to settings, general, developer options, scroll down to "Bluetooth AVRCP version" and try to change this setting to 1.4 or anything else that might work for your phone.
On your fitbit, when you switch from clock to phone then back it'll display your song info and controls.

Thanks for this. Just check my dev options on p20 Pro and no avrcp option. Anyone know and other name for this?

Still having issues after trying a couple of times. Not so reliable!
How many users should be upset before the moderators do something about it??

I'm having this issue as well. My AVRCP was already set to 1.4.
I've noticed that my Versa's Music via Bluetooth setting switches itself to "off". I'm able to pair the Versa with my phone by switching it to "Pair" (switching it to "on" doesn't let my phone connect); however, it eventually stops working, and when I check the Music via Bluetooth setting, it's back to "off". Any idea what's going on here?

That worked...until I pressed the back button to get out of that screen...then when I long pressed to go back it's back to the "start playing music on your phone" screen. This is so frustrating...i'm about to return it. My blaze died so I upgraded to the versa and the music controls on the blaze are MUCH more reliable, but they no longer offered it and it's only $50 difference from this model now. Runners can't rely on this to be able to control their music during say, an 11 mile run when you want to focus on keeping an even pace and negative splitting, not reaching for your phone to change the track because your NEW 2 week old watch doesn't work.
This is crap and I'm so disappointed.

After two, three months with Versa I have to say, that display and some functions are really nice and I like it. Music control doesn't work anymore - I wasn't able to run it succesfully for past month or so. And before (as I mentioned in my previous posts) worked really randomly. From Fitbit no update at all.
Versa has problem with ANY synchronisation! Weather, steps, music, even watch faces and notifications (that's quite a big problem!). On top of that is an inability to connect to Google Fit for example or any other app. I was ready to return it, but I said to myself that I'll give it a chance and wait for update maybe. But after few months now I know that it was a mistake. Unfortunatelly I have to say that Versa is my first and also last Fitbit device.
This is how you loose customers Fitbit! I'll not recommend your products to anyone. Sorry.

Me too (oneplus 5t).
I've tried everything but all the watch ever displays is the "No music loaded" screen.
Back to my 3 year old pebble and I'll just stick the versa in my pocket as a dumb pedometer.

I think I know where the problem is (no help whatsoever though).
In the phones bluetooth settings, when you click on the little cog for the versa, there are no options. With everything else you can select contact sharing, input device, phone calls, media audio etc.

Yep, still going on after all this time. I know it's possible to fix too, my girlfriend's iPhone works with music controls just fine. She never seems to lose connection. Is this problem just specific to Android?

That's no surprise. Although more Android users and technically easier to build and release, companies like Fitbit support the name not the customer. I have left fitbit and moved to Ticwatch Pro running Wear OS. So much better. All notifications, music controls, constant heart rate and almost same step count, pictures, talking responses.... Only l downside just a 2.5 day battery life under normal use. But a morning shower charge takes me back to 95%+.

Also having similar issues. If I restart the versa connected to my pixel 2 XL, music controls work. If I stop using Spotify for a while, go back to Spotify later, music control screen just says to start playing music. Still says I'm connected to versa classic, but it will only work again after another watch reset .Really annoying.
Any solutions?

@NonDairyKramer Try toggling ON/OFF Versa Classic in your phone bluetooth settings, then go back to your Versa's music control and toggle them OFF/ON.

@NonDairyKramer press and hold the left button to access quick menu on your Versa, swipe to Local Music Controls, tap three dots, toggle between the sources - watch/phone. I have noticed that even if I exit the controls to use other app on my Versa, simply by toggling the sources tends to resolve the issue. Though sometimes I have to toggle a few times...
