My versa stopped working. When I put it on the charger it works. When I take it off the charger it does not work.

I'm having the same problem. Nothing I do will turn my versa on unless it's on the charger.

I just started having this issue this morning, I charged it to 100 before I went to bed last night and this morning I woke up and it wouldn't do anything. Then after putting it on the charger it came back to life only to die again as soon as I took it off just like what has happened to people on here. I called Customer Support but they said since it was a month and a half out of warranty then won't send a new one. They only offered a discount on a new one. Pretty crappy to do since the problem seems to be an issue with a lot of people

My Fitbit Versa doesn't work off charge either and I bought it 12 and a half months ago.

It has always lagged and not synced properly but I thought it was just a minor issue but then I saw all my friends Versa's worked perfectly. I would like some assistance please.

I am having the same issues with my Versa that are described here...    There doesn't appear to be a solution from what I can tell except to send it back to FitBit.  Am I correct?

I am having exact same issue. I have reset to factory settings and rebooted numerous times and can't get it to work off the charger but on charger reads 100 percent

You will need to call customer support and explain the problem. They will
probably send you a new Versa if it is still under warranty.

Fitbit let me keep my old Versa (since it was us less now) and sent me a
new one because it was still under warranty.

Mine did the exact same thing (lagging and not syncing) it didn't really
bother me so I didn't call customer support. When it only worked on the
charger I called and they sent me a new one because it is still under
warranty.

Hi HydyF, I have the exact same issue. The screen goes black and unresponsive once I take it out from the charger. But when plugged in, shows full charge. I've tried restart, reset, nothing works. Please help.

I've heard restarting or factory resetting the versa can help. If niether
of those options work call customer service, explain the problem, and they
will send you a new one if it's still under warranty.

The hard restart or factory reset didn’t work for me. Unfortunately I was a little over a month out of factory warranty and Fitbit wouldn’t help me. Luckily when I purchased the Versa through Wal-Mart I bought an extended warranty. The warranty company through Wal-Mart fixed it and sent it back with no issues and it’s worked great since. I still find it sad and disappointing that Fitbit won’t stand behind a product when it seems this is a flaw in their product.

Got a new one since mine was still under warranty.
Tried multiple troubleshooting options with customer service, nothing worked. Received a new one 10 days later.

That’s horrible. There is definitely something wrong with that batch. They should have honoured your claim. I was still under warranty so was able to get a new one.

I appear to be having the same issue as stated in this thread. I can’t restart as my versa goes to a black screen and is unresponsive as soon as I remove it from the charger. Please help!

You have 2 options.

1. Factory restart the device.
2. If that doesn't work (and the versa is still under warranty) call
customer service and Fitbit will send you a new versa.
