I already have the oneplus 7T and I was considering buying the fitibit versa 2. According to what I've seen, the watch and the phone are not fully compatible, but the reviews are not clear if it is a big issue or not. Would you recommend me to buy the watch or the issues of compatibility are considerable? Thank you!

There is no compatibility issue of Fitbit  Versa 2 with One Plus phones. After I set up Fitbit app on my OnePlus as per instructions I posted earlier, it works perfectly fine with me.

Having said that, there are following cons of this watch.

-You can not make calls or answer calls through on your Versa2

-You can send only preset text from Versa2 to reply to SMS that you receive on Versa2

-It counts steps even if you move your hand

-Climb calculations are inaccurate.

As this is a issue that is a problem. I have found that restarting your
phone whenever it doesn't connect to the Fitbit app works. I believe Fitbit
is not doing enough to make sure newer phones are working with the watches.

I have a OnePlus 7 Pro and it worked perfectly fine with my Versa 2 in the beginning. Then after firmware and/or Fitbit app updates, notifications got totally messed up. I've tried all the tricks in the book, and it still doesn't work. Ocationally I get a random notification, but for 99,9% of the time it just doesn't work. If I go to notification settings and try a "Send a Test Call Notification" it works, so it's cleairly not a bluetooth/connection issues between the phone and the watch. Sync works fine, and I get both steps and sleep tracked, but since I got this watch much because I wanted notifications as well it's very annoying to say the least. The most frustratin thing is that it was working fine, until something updated (I suspect the latest firmware).
I agreed that Fitbit aren't doing enough to support "new" phones (OnePlus 7 Pro has been out for more than 5 months) and are hiding behind that they don't support it.

Same exact issue. I literally have to shut my phone off 2 or 3 times for it to work

1) Disable the battery optimization for the Fitbit app under "Settings > Battery > Battery Optimisation > Fitbit "

2) Lock Fitbit app in multitasking switcher as described below
-Open Fitbit app on your phone
-Press multitasking button (either right or left button from your home button at the bottom of screen), this will pop up all active apps on your OnePlus screen
-Locate Fitbit app by scrolling left or right
-Touch on 3 dots at top right of Fitbit app screen

3) Restart your OnePlus device

4) Problem resolved. 🙂

Hey everyone I just got a Fitbit Versa 2 and I already owned a onePlus 7 Pro. Like many of you I could not get text messages to show up on my watch. However, being a geek and a network administrator I have to figure out issues like this on a daily basis and so I have become proficient and figuring these things out. Here is the solution I found for my situation:

1. Open your Fitbit app on your phone.

2. Go into your account and then click on the Versa 2 device

3. Click Notifications

4. Select Text Messages and make sure you select the default sms message app that you have selected on your phone.

Of course you also need to make sure you have notifications turned on and this should get text messages working on your Fitbit Versa 2.
