Offline Spotify with Versa 2

Hello,

I recently upgraded my Charge 2 to a Versa 2. I was super excited about the Spotify app and this is the main reason why I switched. But I'm currently facing some issues...

1- I have linked my Spotify account with the Fitbit app several times, but I have to pair it very often because it keeps losing the connection to my Spotify account... It is frustrating, but when I just linked it, it works for a while.

2- When the connection between my Spotify account and Fitbit app is done (temporarily...) and sync, I still have to keep my phone not too far away when I train, since it takes the data from my Spotify account linked to my phone ... I find the feature not very useful because the goal here is not having the cellphone when I go to the gym and just using Spotify on my watch. Do you know if there is a way to have an ''Offline Spotify'' on the watch? Like, download some music on my watch using Spotify at home, and play it offline on the watch without carrying the phone when I train?

No offline support I'm afraid - the app is just a controller for Spotify on your phone. Fitbit say:

"The Spotify app on your watch doesn’t support offline music playback, so your paired phone must remain nearby with the Fitbit app running in the background and connected to the internet."

Might offline support be in the future?

Seems a bit useless if, for example, I am on a treadmill listening to a Spotify playlist but still need my phone with me and all I can do with the Versa is control. I can do that by clicking the forward and back buttons on my wireless earbuds ...

Would be great to be able to 'download' a playlist to Spotify on the watch and leave the phone in the locker. Otherwise, the Versa, in terms of listening to Spotify, is just an unnecessary piece of equipment between the phone and the earbuds.

Am I missing something?

Really disappointing!

Hopeing it's something they add in the near future.

Advertising it as having spotify is really missleading- all it can do is control it if you have to have your phone on you anyways it's pointless.

I have spotify premium all my music is on there - I know I can load music off my computer onto it but that doesnt do me any good if I cant download my spotify playlist.

I dont feel like having to pay to download songs onto it when I have a subscription to a music service that was advertised as supported.

On top of that the Alexa is pretty useless too it is a pain to have to hold the button down when you want to use it then it takes forever to give you a answer that you need to read.

Also it can only answer basic questions (weather/spelling) It would be nice if it had a speaker in it.

Thinking of returning it mostly because I feel lied too with the false advertisement.

Yeah, this is a real drag.

The whole point was to be able to leave the phone behind so I didn’t have that bulk on me while I’m out running...

How can we make our grievance known to Fitbit/Spotify?

any update on this?

I can see on https://www.fitbit.com/eu/sense it says : "Applicable subscriptions required for offline music. Spotify and Deezer not available in all countries."

Does it mean it will come out finally ???

If any Fitbit product folks meander through this discussion: I want a fitbit but spotify offline is a requirement. I'll stick with garmin for now, even though I think the products are a little weaker.

If you want to see Fitbit add this feature (Offline Spotify support) then please everyone VOTE for this Feature Suggestion here
