When replying to text messages from Versa, messages are sent three times. Using Pixel 3 and Google Messages app. Anyone else with this problem?

@purefit I think this actually might be attributed to Pixel. I believe someone in this forum reported sending 8 messages. I use Google Messages myself and never had this issue, but I'm on Oreo on OP. Have you tried testing a different messaging app to see if the issue persists?

So I have a Google pixel 2, use messages on it as it's the only messages app republic wireless "allows" and some people get a single text when I quick reply, others get 6. Now on my side it always shows 6 messages sent. Which for quick replies is super annoying. I've forced the Versa to reconnect Bluetooth after forgetting the device. And it didn't improve. What's going on?

@purefit and @SunsetRunner, I appreciate your participation in the Forum and for sharing your experience with us and for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. At this moment, I would like to suggest you what @Marrrmaduke recommended, please test Quick Replies with another app instead of Google Messages and let us know if you're still experiencing the same situation and which apps you tested this on. This will be very helpful to check this further.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

@purefit @Heather6383 I know you use Google Messages and Verizon Messaging app, respectively. So, at this point it really would be good to figure out if it's OS related (Pie Pie yummy Pie) or phone model related (?). Unless you both are on Verizon. Is it only while sending texts that this issue persists? What about WhatsApp or Instagram or Facebook Messenger or any other app?

Confirmed that it also happens with Slack. Pixel 2, Fitbit Charge 3 here.

@Heather6383 @SunsetRunner @purefit I might have missed that info but can you guys provide your trackers firmware version?
ETA: Giving a shout to my smart pal @Giampi71 - have you encountered any issues with multiple messages being sent from your Pixel 3 as a result of using Versa's quick reply feature?

@Marrrmaduke Both my wife and I (Versa+Pixel 2XL and Ionic+Pixel 3XL) never had any problem but we don't use Google Messages rather a combination of Allo/Line/Telegram

Mine is: 28.20001.4.4.33. It started sending out 6 messages at once for SMS and Slack tonight. I didn't try with anything else. I started noticing this problem when my Fitbit was telling me something to the effect of "... notification has expired." I'm not sure it that had anything to do with any of this.
I've tried the following:
- Turned off bluetooth on my phone, turned it back on. Did nothing.
- Restarting Fitbit Charge 3 using touch screen. Did nothing.
- Restarting Fitbit Charge 3 by plugging it in, holding down side button for 8 seconds. Problem solved, but I'm not convinced that the repeating problem will not come back.
Thoughts?

@Giampi71 thanks! That's what I'm trying to verify. I must admit I find it weird as Google Messages is my go-to recommended messaging app. Well, obviously not always. Thanks again!🤗

@SunsetRunner in a weird, twisted way it makes sense. "Notification expired" pretty much means there's notification on your Versa, which has been cleared from your phone's notification centre, but somehow it's still stuck in the Fitbit mobile app memory. That's why quite often one can see old notifications reappearing. The only way to clear it is manually from Versa and by restarting Fitbit mobile app I guess.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well.
I appreciate you have taken the time to report this situation and for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Tell me, is the only apps affected the Verizon Messaging or are you having multiple Notifications from other apps as well? If so, please let us know which ones and the OS version running on your phone, this will be very helpful for us to check this further.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

I also have this problem, on my Pixel XL (First generation)
The problem is with quick texts, emoji's also. It happens on google hangout's, messaging app, and whats app. I am on android version 9 with the latest October 5th security patch, my fitbit is version 32.32.12.19
After I restart my phone all app's work with a single reply, but I also noticed the "notification no longer valid" coming up every now and then prior to the restart. Also, as stated by another user, I'm confident it will start happening again, but at least I know its just a simple reboot of my phone to fix for the interm.
Also, I am in canada on the telus LTE network.
