Quick replies sending multiple messages.

When replying to text messages from Versa, messages are sent three times. Using Pixel 3 and Google Messages app. Anyone else with this problem?

I tried this and the multiple replies initially were reduced to two.  I'll see how long it lasts.  Two replies is better than he 10 or 12 it was sending, but still not acceptable.

@MarcoGFitbit I am having the same issue(s) others have mentioned.  Any time I use the quick reply, my response appears to be sent 8-12 times to the message.  

  • Phone: Samsung Note 9 (AT&T)
  • OS: Android Version 9 (Pie)
  • Versa Version: 32.33.1.30
  • App:  Using built-in messages sends multiple, Facebook Messenger sends one notification.

I have also received the notification "This notification has expired and is no longer valid Versa" that others mentioned and the messages on the Versa not clearing without restarting the Versa. 


The ability to reply to text messages was one of the reasons the watch was purchased.

Try unpairing your watch from your phone. Reboot your watch and let it pair with your phone, not vice versa. Make sure your phones bluetooth is on. That fixed several issues with my Versa and Google Pixel XL2. I was having a sync problem as well as the multiple message issue. It fixed both. Not sure why but its been a couple of weeks now and all works well.

@MarcoGFitbit I have the same issue others are having with multiple responses. I tried rebooting the watch by itself and following other instructions here to no avail. Any word on if this is being worked on or an ETA for a fix?

I havent heard anything from fitbit. My Pixel2 xl no longer shows multiple messages after I unpaired the Versa on my phone, than rebooted the watch. Let the watch pair itself with the phone.The purpose was to fix sync issues, which it did, but it also fixed the message problem. It makes little sense but both issues resolved.

I have rebooted and unpaired/re-paired, and my Ionic still does multiple responses AND gives me the error that message is no longer available?  I have a Samsung S9.

Since trying all of the  steps I previiously outline, my versa is only sending a single message. Actually it was only sending one but showed multiples on my phone texting app. The only other thing that I did also do was disconnect my tablet (a second device) which may or may not have caused any issues.

Samsung S8 has just updated to One UI, and now my Ionic is sending four responses each time instead of one. 

 

Any fixes for this UI?

Ionic, Blaze, Charge HR, Flex. Android 7.0 (Samsung Galaxy S8)

@Romengaccord Try forgetting ionic in your Paired devices and reboot both phone and the tracker. Open fitbit app and sync. I'm afraid it's predominantly present on the recent OS.

That (Marmadukes suggestion) worked 100 percent for me with my versa and has remained fixed for about a month now.

The Fitbit app version on my Pixel 2xl is 2.9(20213375). Versa firmware is 32.331.30. I have had my phone's Bluetooth forget Versa, then restarted both phone and Versa multiple times. It continues to send multiple quick replies. I just did this again and it sent 2 replies. The next two times were also 2.

It seems like I'm having to restart my Versa and phone both recently just to get my notifications. This is probably not related to the multiple replies, because this has been recent. They multiple replies to back to day one with my Versa. This is all getting to be very annoying!

Yes I am using WhatsApp,my versa was sending 5 messages each time for quick replies.now it sends 2.i have no idea why??

Is your Versa actually sending multiple messages? Or are multiple messages just appearing on your phone app? Although my text message phone app showed that I sent the same reply 10 times, only one was actually received by the recipient.  A fix needed for sure but may not be as severe as thought if in fact, only the one reply is actually sent. The issue was fixed for me by unpairing the watch with the phone (forget versa on phone) and reboot both devices and let versa pair with your phone. I also had the fitbit app installed on multiple devices. I removed the app from all devices except my phone. I nolonger have the problem.

received the 5 when it was sending 5!
