Fitbit Update 04/18/2018: Hey everyone -- Our team has resolved this issue, which means you should be able to sync your sleep logs from last night and the app will display your actual hours slept as opposed to 0 time asleep.

Thanks for your patience as we worked to the get this resolved as quickly as possible. I will be closing this thread as the issue is resolved. If you come across this issue in a future instance, please create a new topic and reference this one if the issue is identical.

Fitbit Update 04/17/2018: We're aware of an issue where users who logged sleep may see their time asleep as 0 minutes.

We're working on getting this resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we have a workaround:

Workaround:

  • Manually edit your sleep log (hit the "edit" button at the top right of the app and change your start OR end time by 1 minute.
  • Save the change
  • This will recalculate your sleep and should resolve the issue.

I will have more information for you once this has been fully resolved. Thanks for your reports and continued patience as we work on a fix.

This is my first Fitbit product (I'm quite loyal to Garmin) which I bought especially for sleep tracking. I've worn the watch for the two nights since receiving it and no sleep information has yet to be recorded. Any ideas? Thanks.

I am having the same issue too. Also fighting the notifications vibration issues

I’m also having the same issue 😕

I’ve had mine for two days and both nights have had only the simplified sleep stages. I have rebooted the Versa . Will try a different position on my wrist

The lack of notifications? It seems hit or mostly miss but incoming calls have never displayed on the watch.  I've seen a message on my app that says "your phone is in do not disturb mode" as a reason for no notifications even though I know my phone is in please disturb me mode. 😆

I am also having this issue. I received my tracker yesterday so last night was the first night. I told the app I was in bed and when I woke up hoping it would show the best data, but then it just registered that I was in a deep sleep for that entire time.

I also find it is missing a lot of the advertised features - I have no quick responses for text messages, and it doesn't have any information about cycle tracking that I can find.

Mine said this when I had my phone on silent. Try turning it on vibrate and see if the message goes away.

Ahhh! Yes, that fixed it although it defeats the purpose of having wrist notifications to avoid sound (even vibrate) coming from the phone.

Thanks!

As a first time Fitbit user I was not aware you had to physically enable sleep mode? Thought it would automatically recognize that I was no longer functioning at a level 10. Then again, it never thinks my heart beats so who knows.

According to the manual you don't need to enable anything. It says it just recognizes sleep based on heart rate. I just saw the option to tell the app I was sleeping so I tried it.

I'm looking at my app again now and it says it hasn't synced since 8:45pm yesterday so it appears that there is something wrong with it...

Andrea. Do not manually start the sleep log. It will do it automatically. The manual says not to if you are not getting the detailed sleep stages

Night three with no sleep information. I'm seeing why I've been a loyal Garmin user.

I am also having the same issue and my bpm is not working. I had the ionic and did not have these issues.

I restarted my Versa and wore it about 2 finger widths above the wrist bone. I wore it a little loose and wore my old charge 2 which is dead just below it so the Versa wouldn’t slip down. Still only got the simplified sleep stages. Will keep trying new things.

Sleep stages (awake, light, REM, deep) not available yet on Versa? I am getting only simple sleep info available now on my Versa (awake, restless and asleep).

Best Answer

I have the same problem with my versa not showing heart rate which in turn won't show sleep because of it.

Seems to be a big issue and needs to be addressed from fitbit.

There's other forum post pertaining to this issue.

If someone is getting the detailed sleep stages please let us know. If you are could you tell us how you are wearing your Versa when you are sleeping. Thanks

I have resolved all the issues I had by reinstalling my fit bit. I realized the issue was that it hadn't synced since the night before. Since I have done this, it has been working as it should and my sleep showed up this morning right away.

So you removed the Versa and set it up again? I haven’t had any issues with it syncing but I will give it a try

Glad to hear that. However, are you getting detailed sleep stages info like light sleep, REM and deep sleep?
