Purchased a versa lite for my daughter and the screen won’t clear or sync. Has a red x on the screen. Restarted and it’s still there.

I have tried the step given to hold the button 8 seconds and then release and hold again. I still get the RED X on my screen and won't go away. I'm frustrated as it keeps resetting out of no where all day/night and even in the middle of my workout. PLUS the touch screen stops working. I haven't even had this a year and I'm about ready to get an IWatch!!!!!
