I would like to know if you keep having issues setting up your Versa? If you do, I recommend following the instructions in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and about the battery, in this post you will see some other steps to follow.

My wife's Versa charges my Versa.  How do I get the one supplied replaced?
