How do I get it off the swimming app ???

Hello @Yvette.b. It's not an app, it's in the Exercise app on your device. Select Exercise > then scroll down to swimming.

I struggled with this at first but I now find that a double-click on the side button brings up the resume/quit option. 2 taps on the quit option stops the swim app. Hope it works for you
