Hi... I became a Fitbit user about 3 years ago. A coworker recommended it at my request for his opinion on what tracker to buy. He recommended the Fitbit Versa and said to get the scale too, which I do have (Aria 2).
My primary goal was to lose weight through quantifiable change. The Fitbit Versa, scale, and App helped me tremendously! I lost an honest 50 lbs, and have kept 47 of those pounds off.
I have a regiment of walking a minimum of 10K steps per day. I'm proud to say that I have a string of 2 years straight meeting that goal, and only missed one day in the first year due to illness.
This morning, my Versa was blank. I've had battery issues and other with it before, and tried to reboot it (not a total reboot) but just a start. What I feared for the last couple years had come to pass. I think the battery and unit finally bit it today. I was able to charge it from 9% to 68% but it discharged quickly. In that time it did track my steps (I could see it on the App screen) but the Versa face was blank (ever so slightly lit with no content.
Anticipating this, I purchased a new Versa (I like familiarity) over a year ago.
My question is this. Is it possible to activate my new Versa (with me now and charged at 100%) to pick up where my steps left off today, and not lose my string of old information?

@Klvn8r You should be able to keep your data if the old unit will sync. Suggest you a) charge up the old unit (and perhaps while on the charger, sync it). b) after syncing turn the unit off or move it to a far room c) remove the old unit from your app then d) add the new unit to the app.

Hello wtksk8r,
Your Versa advise worked like a charm.
Although the screen was basically blank, the old Versa recorded my steps during the day. After reaching my step goal for the day, I sync'd it with the App on my phone, walked the old (faithful) Versa out to the garage, and proceeded back into the house, deleted the old Versa from the App, and then paired the new Versa. All of the older data was intact, and the new Versa picked up where the old one left off!
Thank you for chiming in!
Your method worked flawlessly!
